I'd say embrace it. I'm one of the few who has only played the original Elemental, but everyone knows that sequels are different games. I don't think the brand is so tarnished that many people would see a game called "Elemental: Origins" or "Elemental II" (the most stereotypical examples possible) and write it off without even reading any reviews. And then by the time you get to Elemental III and IV the original rocky start of the first one is so far in the past
