I must agree, the music reminded me of Age of Mythology, which still ranks #1 in my eyes for real time strategy games.

Well for starters, I don't have an online account since I normally avoid multiplayer on most games, and second, I'm running a PIRATED copy, so how does my illegal version have more priveleges than your legal one?
You may think I'm crazy, but I didn't mind the tactical battle system in the trailer one bit. It evoked fond memories of the original Final Fantasy Tactics. The only thing I didn't like was being able to cast like 4 spells per turn.
Okay, I'm REALLY late on this, but on the topic of the Dragon Age DLC's, I have the actualy game, and I can attest to the fact that if you have the dazips for the DLC's you DO NOT need to run an authentication check or even connect to the internet.
Well, the whole overarching thing is that if you follow the rules properly, you won't get VAC banned or anything. But the whole purchases being rendered unaccessible thing is ridiculous, and only EA, the most unscrupulous video game company ever, would condone such a thing.
Okay, Nezrie, I'm no Valve fanboy but as a fairly frequent user of Steam, your argument is completely wrong. Valve does not operate on a "ban first, ask questions later" basis, unless it's a VAC ban. For credit card issues, they will first send you a warning, I believe, then they resort to restricting measures. VAC itself is very sound, and just to reiterate the points already made, it only goofs up very rarely, and is fixed relatively quickly. It's a very small price to pay for a cheat-free
Actually the Kingdom-aligned Fallen would be kinda cool in my opinion.
Yeah, that actually sounds like a good idea. It does add new elements in the game, and I like the whole idea of factoring the use of these points in in homeland defence as well as in guerrilla warfare. Just adding in these abilities would add a whole new layer of tactical depth to the game.
Yeah, but the thing is the other races are just nationalities, are they not? I'd just lump that all in the human category. It's just like the subclasses of humans in The elder Scrolls series. They're still human, it's just that they hail from (insert country here) and have upgraded abilities in (insert attribute here). I would kinda like to see more than just human and Fallen outside of modding, but the game looks awesome enough already, so I suppose it doesn't really matter.
So I've been following this game for quite a while now, but I haven't really heard anything about races. From what I've heard, you can be either a human or a Fallen, but this seems kinda shallow to me. Are there other races available (elf, dwarf, etc.) or did they just stick with the two?
Okay, I can't resist, here are a few more that could be used for late-game bosses or such: Holy Shield - The boss is surrounded by a holy shield, negating all damage but dark damage, which it recieves a penalty to. Dark Shield - The boss is surrounded by a shield of shadow, negating all but holy damage, which it recieves a penalty to. I also really like the idea of the elemental rings blocking off the town from attack for a few turns, but make it so that they have a pe
A few more: Mountain Shield - You and all units within a one tile radius become invincible for one turn, but cannot move or act. Firewall (lol) - You create a barrier of fire that lasts 2 turns that does damage to every unit that passes through it.
Oh yeah, here's another cool one: Aura of Death - The unit gains a percentage of attack/defence/health upon killing an enemy.
Assimilate (Empire only perhaps?) - You absorb a friendly soldier to gain a portion of health.
Kholai, I like your idea of "presence", except for one part: your heroes or sovereign should have a lot of presence, simply because they can accomplish somewhat superhuman feats and even cast magic, which is rare in that time. Plus, it being post apocalyptic, if they did revolt, they'd be left with no real leader. This is only considering there isn't any outside influence, which leads to new things such as propaganda and espionage.
Awesome then, I was addicted to that game when it first came out on the PS1 and now I'm really looking forward to Elemental!
So I like the whole micro-management aspect to TBS games, but I really love the combat, which is where most of these games are lacking (in my opinion). So my question is: is the combat in this game similar to that of something like Final Fantasy Tactics? They said "tile-based" battle format, so that's the first thing that came to mind. If the battle system is like that, that would be awesome. Anyone know for sure?
