This same crash happens to me while running in window mode and clicking off the game. Once i click back into the game it gives a DX error and crashes out the game. Note: It doesn't do it every time. Dunno if I cancelled a building but I also noticed that i could build a harbor and fishing building nowhere near water. Tried to screenshot it but game crashed from another bug.

I have given up trying to fix the problem. It seems like my graphics drivers are not supported for windows 7 64bit. I tested changing all the settings I can in the settings file. Nothing seems to fix it. When I try to pull up the impulse menu, it is all scrambled. I guess I will have to get a new laptop to be able to play the game while I am on the road.
