I don't take offence don't worry :). I appreciate any suggestion as to why this is happening. I have made several other blinds using the same technique of slicing the frames and merging each frame for the states into one image and then importing to SKS. The thing is it's fine with the active shadows only when the window becomes inactive that this happens. It just baffles me slightly. I changed the shadows and re-sliced and still the same problem.

I've never come across this before but it appears that there is an issue with the inactive dwm shadows around the per pixel frames. I did check the margins to make sure that they're correct. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps me overcome this :)
Happy birthday Ben! best wishes :D
Great job and congrats to all!
Currently listening to Ministry of Sound Ibiza annual 2013 album. Some nice songs on there if you like house/electro.
I previously had a HP laptop i3 340m also, same heating problem would run ~100ºC in a normal room conditions. It's not uncommon so if you're still under warranty get something done about it. Otherwise as others suggested making sure fans/ducts are clear of dust. I wouldn't reapply any new paste. Also invest in a good laptop cooling pad. I would recommend the coolermaster u3. I bought this for £25 earlier this year and saw dramatic drops in temperature of around 10º
@ 2of3 This only displays it for a short amount of time, despite changing the timeout value on windows itself. Thanks for the reply though :) @moshi Will give it a shot. Thanks for the suggestion!
I've searched around the web to no avail so thought I'd ask the community here at WC. I was wondering if anyone knew how to invoke a balloon tip that normally displays in the tray notification area (the one with the settings/close button). Thanks in advance
I really wish I could help but I can't say as I'm still using Windows 7. Although I can't see myself migrating to Windows 8 anytime soon.

Thank you and great work indeed (the others I mean, I don't think so much of mine lol) :D
Wincustomize is only a skinning site and isn't actually apart of Stardock. Wincustomize just has a lot of popularity amongst the skinning community. The only thing you can really do is attempt to contact the author to get permission to modify their work and update it yourself.
My apologies for that mistake. It can cause confusion when two blinds have the same name. I am not sure this is the case, Xaphire uses animation for the titlebar and works fine using Windowblinds 8.
Vampothika is the author of this blind and is active of the forums. Perhaps you could PM her and find out if she can help :).
Skinstudio can be a little funny with the start menu blur. You need to make sure that all sections are set to semi-transparent/no transparency. Alpha channel check box is only needed if you pre-multiply the alpha prior to importing to SKS in .tga format. I would recommend saving your image as PNG format then importing. SKS will automatically handle the alpha channel for you. If you get stuck you can check other windowblinds such as Galaxus 7 (I made this with a full semi-transparent start men

Very nice indeed. As Sargan said, I love these colours too :) great job!
Happy birthday Nikos! Best wishes for your special day :D
One other thing to be noted is that the start button affects the size of the taskbar. Make sure that the height of the start button matches the height of the taskbar you want it to be, from there as DaveRI mentioned can crop any unnecessary pixel data to achieve the result you want.
Got a change log?
picpick is also a good freeware tool, It has a host of other features that help aid graphic designers. :)
Happy b/day! best wishes :)
To modify the glow on this font. You have to go to change fonts and select "Active Caption" it's the "shadow fixed blur" option that gives it this glow.
Absolutely! Really love this concept. Can't wait to see the final product :D
I never said I was unwilling to pay for an upgrade. What I'm saying is Windows 7 is far more comfortable and efficient enough for me. But I will be sticking with Windows 7 for quite some time.
