I just finished my first multiplayer game against a human player and it was a long one! Turns are done at the same time but it doesn't feel rushed at all (maybe because I'm used to RTS games). My biggest problem with it so far is that tactical battles have been taken out! Um, this makes the final battle very very very anti-climatic. It was like turn end boom game over. All there was was a long list of who hit who for how much damage and such but that battle was what I played for the other two

More abilities!!! I would like to see team based abilities, multi-tile abilities, morale altering abilities and more. Creatures need to aid one another or even hinder their own team if they are too strong. Such as an ogre that has a chance of going into a rage and attacking all units in sight including your own.
