Sure those games have strengths, but EWOM is supposed to be unique. Sure Brad has gotten inspirations from MoM and other games, but the goal wasn't to make a sequel or just update what's already been done. That being said, let's fix what we've got. I believe the

I hate myself for doing this... Actually it's only 1 step: #1 - Release flawless game that enthralls anybody regardless of their expectations and skill level :)
One should not need tips to play a freaking strategy game in a challenging way. The game should present the challenge, not how you play it!
Hi Voqar, I sympathize with what you said, but the point of this thread is a bit to help people find settings where the AI isn't a complete pushover, and also to explore the factors that seem to be contributing to their downfall. Well that was my original intent at least, if it

Hello everyone, First of all I'll start by saying that the values listed in this post are PURELY arbitrary. Concept: Building costs vary depending on what terrain you construct a building on Terrain List: Grasslands: 0% <span style="color: #ff9900;
Given that your cities immediately convert the land into lush greenery or a Mordor hellscape, AND the fact the your factions are useless without natural resources like Lost Libraries Fertile Land, etc, I think that the idea of terrain actually having an effect like that is flawed.
In Civ, you can found a city anywhere. In Elemental, it only makes sense to found a city next to a resource square. Plus, food and/or gold serve as a severe cap on population. You can only grow food from a limited number of tiles. The maps are small, barren, and poorly generated.
Not true, For Empire ANY built city is good, for you can get 1 Mat, 1 Gold very easily in each town
CWG, You really just highlighted the main problem I'm having with the game. It is shocking to me that on the largest map size available, I can really only expect to have about 5 cities.
What? 5 Cities on a Large Map? That makes no sense, in my Large map, I was able to build 10 cities before my borders met with another faction (including minor factions). take note that I don't have more than 4 or 5 op
Hello everyone, I've been reading the posts of a few people, who seem to be saying that the AI isn't strong enough and is easy to break down early in the game. I was playing a Epic, Large Map, Challenging AI & Challenging world. I didn't expand very aggresively but around turn 200, I realized that the major factions had grown to gigantic proportions, their power level was probably 2 to 5 times mine. (depending on the faction). Also, A lot of the people posting that
Buildings For Empire: Barter House Imperial Mint Trade Center All of these give you a % bonus to Gold. Afterwards, you can always reached the Trade tech and it will give you 10% bonus to gold prod in all your cities per tech level. Hope this helps! PS: Haven't played with Kingdom sorry. ;)
OMG, you can edit the attribute points available after leveling up!? D: THANK YOU! T_T
Defragmenting while using your PC isn't always a good idea, as if the files that need to be reallocated are being used I think they'll just remain fragmented. Best thing to do is start defrag before going to work/bed. Cheers, v.
I think that, regardless if you disagree with someone opinion, labelling them as "fan boys" will only immediately take the argument away from the game and turn it into personal attacks. I think people should stick to the facts and use that in their debates and arguments, rather than stereotyping someone's opinion, giving it a label, and using that as a pretense to dismiss their allegations/concerns/complaints/comments. It's all about being civil, regardless if you deem it necessary or
Good point, that or make it so that Male sovereigns get.. uh... Janushka? ;) Cheers, V.
Albeit a very heft cost, perhaps permanent essence points, it would be nice to be able for the sovereign to create a Gold Mine, Steel Mine, etc... That would help in cases where no one seems to have encountered Iron or what not. It would also be nice to have to have a spell that allows you to turn cliffs into beaches, and perhaps raze forests. That would further increase our ability to mold the land. :) Oh and good old Master of Magic's "floating Island" spell would also be qu
It would be fun to be able to share your world map with other factions, that way you could be able to see your allies empire without having to run around :). Or just to trade it for better relations? Cheers, V.
It would be nice if you were allowed to marry your children with any member of your court. As it stands, it seems that you may only marry them via diplomatic means. Only the sovereign can wed inside the faction. Yup, V.
Once your child is born, the sovereign should have the ability to decide which type of upbringing the child will receive. That way you could gear your child towards more of a fighter build, or mage, etc... Basically it would offer a template stat depending on what you are planing on doing. Some other people also mentioned it would be nice to be able to select the portrait :). If at all possible, bring up the designer would be even better! Maybe once the child reaches maturity? <p
Hello, When a caravan is running a trade route, it is still flagged as being idle. So when you use cycle through idle units you can go through ALL of your caravans. When playing large maps with more than 20 cities all of them with 2 caravans, it can make the button a little useless. I believe that one of the reasons they are appear as idle is that they remain as units on the map, and they only finish their moves at the end of the turn. Regards, V.
Hello, In my most recent game, I discovered that my rival faction and I had the same sovereign. This is rather peculiar and would be nice to be blocked if possible. Regards, V.
It's when you see posts like this that you know the game will be fine. :) Brad, quick get back to your wife before she sees you. Looking forward to see Elemental flower! Regards, V.
I haven't tried to get diplomatic victories, but I did notice that the AI has a tendancy to DOW on you out of the blue. I was in a 300+ turn game, and i finally explored the far western part of the map were i met the last of the 4 major factions in my game. We had "neutral" standing. So I keep exploring by boat (I wasn't in their influence or nothing), and after 3 or 4 turns, boom. I get a DOW from them. Thing is, they are extremely far, they are already at war with their neighboors.
Hello everyone, I was curious if there were perhaps plans in the future to make it so that terrain has an impact on city building? As I see it now, forest and mountains don't allow you to build buildings and that's it. There is no difference of making a city in the middle of a swamp or desert, then making one in the middle plains. Anybody who were in the beta know anything about this? If anything it would of been nice to make it so that maybe certain types of terrain g
Hey everyone, I noticed that my Sovereign can have a kid at age 21, and by age 22-23 my kid is 20 years old... uh. Is this as designed? Now if this is "normal" i can live with it, I was just curious. Thanks, V.
