I would be curious to know as well, but it may be better to email support and ask them directly and explain your situation. Edit: I also found this: https://forums.elementalgame.com/405291 I haven't tried it myself but it looks like it might work.

This guide is a couple months old (doesn't have the new AMD 7000 series cards in it) but it should give you a good idea of what you can get at certain price points and you can modify it from there depending on your needs and budget. http://techreport.com/articles.x/22104 First step is to say "I want to spend no more than $700." Then we can help you pick the best bang the buck parts based on

[quote who="Lord Xia" reply="2" id="3071186"]I really don't care for it, but the initiative system helped. I hate that I can't place my troops and I wish that units had ZOC, and the battlefields where more than a flat, square grid. But it's alright. I don't see it as a huge issue. I did a bunch of testing earlier and determined that the only AA method that does not function properly with AMD cards is Adaptive MSAA. It would be nice if this could be fixed since it apparently has existed since WOM(Thanks Gonzo).

The two screenshots are with AA enabled. This is zoomed in to the 3d map. This is zoomed out to the cloth map. [EDIT] Apparently something was screwed up. A reboot fixed this last problem. This third screenshot is with AA disabled. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10687040/

Well, unfortunately it seems that most people aren't interested so no team I guess. :( I totally understand the extra power costs and why some people wouldn't want to do it. I used to think the same thing, but the reasons I crunch now out weight the extra power costs. Anyway, if anyone wants to crunch some projects with me on BOINC, send me a PM.

That's what people get for being ignorant and not looking into things,IMO. I don't know shit about cars, but you don't see me go out a randomly buy them. I do my research. I ask my car savvy friends about something I'm interested in to see if its a piece of shit or not. Same goes for anything really. Always know what you are getting yourself into.

If you don't like the game, go away. Yeah, blunt but whatever. Hate me, love me. I don't care. Don't come whine on a forum about a game other people like. Posting about something you don't like and expecting to be reimbursed for it is ridiculous, especially 4-6 months later, even when the devs say "yeah, our stuff wasn't good, and we love you guys so guess what, have our next game or two for free". The endless bitching about something you hate when clearly stardock is tryi

If you did any research at all about this game you would know all there is to know. Your own ignorance is preventing you from being an informed consumer in your so called "Economy 2.0". They didn't know the game was as bad as it was until it was too late. Read what Brad as written in the diaries about why the game failed as hard as it did. Then you would know. Again, you can be pissed all you want, but you are still getting free stuff to make up for being wronged. I don't know

I haven't done folding for a few years so I can't really say if it has improved much, but I agree it was a pain in the ass to maximize your output and run cpu or gpu clients at the same time. The BOINC client is much easier IMO. I just attach to whatever project I like and hit go and it does its magic more or less. No having to read websites or do command line craziness. There are also gpu enabled projects and that seems to work real good as well(if you have the

Really? I can't believe people cant get over this or understand it. You are getting FREE GAMES and they are fixing the first one on top of it all. Name one other company that would do that. If it was EA or some other big company they would say "Hey thanks for the $50, enjoy your turd sandwich". Yeah, maybe the game isn't where it needs to be yet, but big deal. It's getting there. It's leagues above what it was when it came out. You are getting the stand alone expansions for fr

If people are that concerned about DRM and see that TAGES is listed as a protection method, and they don't know what it is, I'm sure they would look it up and then decide for themselves how they feel about it. I don't see what the big outcry is all about. And yes, I agree TAGES blows goats.

Just wondering if anyone here crunches for BOINC projects or folds. I used to fold then took a break for awhile and then switched to BOINC as I like the variety of things I can contribute towards. If there is a lot of us maybe we can start a Stardock team or something and get some friendly competition going on.

Lords of the Realm 2 Caesar 3 Age of Empires (the originals and 2) Lord of Magic Freespace 2 Titan Quest I still play these games on occasion and love them to death. Lords of the Real 2 holds the crown though. So dated and lame by today's standards but I probably spent a couple thousand hours in that game and plan on spending more. Good times.

Update: I ended up trying EU:Rome again and I got my ass kicked a couple times so I restarted each time after more or less getting destroyed and now I am playing Pontus and its going pretty good. I'm not entirely sure why I didn't get into this game the first time but I am having a blast(even getting beat down the first few times). I figure I will grab Crusader Kings if/when it goes on sale and give it a go as well. Thanks guys!

I'm super stoked for this show to come out. If it's half as good as Rome was and tries to stick to the book somewhat I will be one happy camper. The stuff on HBO's website makes me giddy like a schoolgirl.

I've watched them all so far. I usually check my brain at the door and just enjoy the show. It's pretty good. I recommend watching it.

Thanks louist! Maybe I will give EU:Rome another go before I make a decision on CK. I haven't played since like last august or some such and I was kind of on a FPS kick when I bought it, so maybe that's why I didn't get into it. Actually, all of the Paradox games intrigue me, but I never really jumped on any of them. I definitely need to give EU:Rome another go. Victoria 2 looks pretty good as well. Also looks like CK 2 might come out Q1 2012, so I guess that's a ways

I've been interested in this game for a little while. Your post makes me really want to buy it, but I don't know if I can get into it or not. I own Europa Universalis: Rome and played it for 12 hours total or so and never could really get into it so I'm kind of reluctant to drop $25 on crusader kings if I'm not going to like it or play it. Is it anything like EU:Rome? The dynasty stuff that was mentioned sounds pretty sweet and I really get into that sort of stuff.

A good chat indeed. To add on to your idea a bit: Say after 10 rounds of combat your heavily armored swordsmen get "fatigue". A drawback from wearing heavy plate and they lose a 2 attack and 1 defense. Meanwhile your light spears are just fine stabbing at the enemy in their light leather. Also you could have something related to unit size, say your pikemen are getting whittled down and they can go berserk which increases their attack by 5 but their defense drops down b
