I accidentally hit 'enter' while commenting and the quest was submitted before I was done explaining what it was. And as long as I'm here, what is convincing someone to pre-order worth? Or buying the game for a friend as a gift?

Companies who truly believe they have a good product are smart to enlist customers to spread the word. Companies who don't tend to try to keep control over their product's buzz, as things like this army will bite will in the butt when customers realize the game isn't up to snuff. SD is the former, obviously.

It's refreshing to see devs being honest about the realities of publishing. Too many have shipped obviously unfinished products then obfuscated as to why they did so, when it was pretty obvious why (ran out of money, had to meet deadlines imposed by publishers or by marketing reasons such as reserved shelf space, etc.). A little honesty goes a long way (with adults anyways -- there'll always be some who will still complain). Given the choices of August or Feb, and that I

Given that it's unlikely (ok -- impossible) they'll release Elemental unless the balance is 'good enough' (I say 'good enough' as balance is relative not absolute and it'll never be 'perfect'), that they're talking about a late August release tells me their internal playtesting is showing decent balance currently, and that they're fairly content with the current content (features/systems/etc.). Beta 2 will show us much (but not all) of what they currently have, so we'll soon see.
