Quoting Spyndel, reply 12 Some of you really need to quit reading things so literally. He's just talking about making the magic in the game more back and forth and less direct damagey.
Maybe, but that was so badly said ... I'm sorry but we've seen loads of that kind of posts during the development, i actually enjoyed that tone back then, because well i had faith into stardock. But now as spy

One of my long term goals with the AI is to be able to ... give the kinds of battles ... that I see on that show /Facepalm No need to explain further, Spyndel already took the words out of my mouth.
Nice ! edit : the shore seems unusually sharpened though, it's weird
Good Old Games is selling it in a ready to play version, using dosbox i think http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/master_of_magic And you can download the original manual, the spellbook and the soundtrack after your purchase
It's too bad we can't get persistent terrain scarring. You could probably pull this off (on the main map, at least) by throwing a "PlaceEnvironment" map gamemodifier into the spell that changes the landscape to 'dead'. I dont think that would work in tactical atm.
How the spell that places rocks with 100hp on the tactical map works then ? Because rocks are kinda persistent ....
Quoting sagittary, reply 28I'm likely in the minority, but I -like- that spells and magic aren't common place and thrown around like water in the ocean. I like that using a nuke spell in combat is a balance between the long term and short term. I like that there aren't loads and loads of high powered spells that basically turn non-casters into meatshields. Frankly, I'm tired of magic trivializing everything else in the game as if you have
Are the special trainings still in ?
So i still didn't have found a warg tile in my game, but as Resoln is now selling me Horses I assume this is working for me [e digicons]:P[/e]
It happens to me too and my incomes are higher than my expenses, so it's not related to wages or whatever. Should the expenses be higher to the incomes it would use your Gildar pools ...
In other words, creating a custom tech tree will not be a cakewalk, sadly [e digicons]
I think male sovereigns should start with a female equivalent to janusk, with low prestige so that you can marry her on the spot Btw in my game, when janusk got killed, it's my wife that gives me the advices, way better !
Thanks thehandofzarquon, now i just have to find a warg tile in my game to see if my custom Kingdom Kennel works (i'll share it if it works ^^) Just for people interested in this mod, it probably won't work with an existent save, you must create a new game.
That's one awful bug [e digicons]8C[/e]
I guess having a custom tile for Kingdom's kennel, would require to put the name of the tile between F_Kennel__02 ?
So it's my first thread here, i preordered the game long time ago, but wasn't actively testing it during beta ^^ I noticed what could be a huge balance issue, almost game-breaker if the game is to be played multiplayer one day. It will be very short to explain : When you capture a Fallen city as a Kingdom faction, or a Kingdom city as a Fallen faction, well, you keep the existing buildings of the faction ... fair enough ... But since most buildings gives
Damn i'll be out this week and best i'll find to have internet is a hotspot if any, i wish i could download the update right now and just be able to activate on 24th
What about AI ?
Well i can see the pro and cons for turn based vs continous turn/real time, but this change is quite sudden for us, as tactical battles were not really dealt with in the past journal entries (for someone like me that is not involved in forums discussions :) ). I might add it's weird to change it before any tester could test it,
Will we still get the 1980-style intro screen in beta 2 ? :D
Without it being somewhat stable or having good game save/load working... it becomes very difficult to even make that determination and I kinda sorta have to default to a NO vote. Pretty much this. Also i don't know the status on the Fallen races but it seems to be rather a major feature of the game, so if they are still not in (which i hope not) that would be quite a downside. But to be honest the game really started
