I keep getting an "error retrieving file do to IOException". I get this every few minutes, and have to restart the program to get it working again. At least it doesn't have to start from scratch each time though, but it would be nice to just set it to download and come back when it's done.

I'd really like to know how big the dragon figurine is.
If you look at how fast they have been developing the game I think you may be a little less concerned. In just three days between two patches they made the game go from unplayable to enjoyable for me, and they still have a month before the digital release. I am however slightly concerned with the RTM version being vastly inferior to the digital version because of the extra time they get to spend on the digital version. This only concerns me because I fear that some revi
I absolutely do not think the other player should get anything from the DC you use in a trade/treaty; that would completely defeat the purpose of it. The point of DC is to get something without giving the other player anything (at least how I see it). If it gives the other player some benefit you might as well remove it completely and just use gold. If it doesn't work in multiplayer I wont be devastated, but it would be nice for the diplomacy tree to have power in singl

I could make a lot of explanations as to why I don't want to see this but I think I will keep it simple and just ask politely that you don't include that in the game. Besides that issue, I am loving the naming of the units. I would love to play multi-player and kill someone with an army o
I would also really like for the AI to be able to use DC against me. A much more elegant solution to DC against players is that not accepting a fair agreement (perceived value wise) where DC is used to even out the deal would cause your people to riot depending on how much was used. This could mean losing population, units joining the other player, or maybe even a town joining the other player; it would all depend on how much political power (DC and whatever else could
The problem that I see with giving DC real value is that it would then benefit the person you are trading it to. That kind of defeats the purpose of getting yourself a better deal through political power.
Just a question, and I apologize if its been answered already, but do spells that require a shard consume the shard?
No, shards are just an enabler for certain spells, not an ingredient.
The problem that I see with essence being tied to mana is that imbuing a champion is a pointless endeavor. What spells do you think a champion can cast with 1 mana? Zero. It would take the champion 10+ levels before he can cast a spell. I would rather see essence tied to spell power and mana to something else. That way a champion can still cast some spells, but he will be VERY weak with them at first while a sovereign can destroy a battlefield with a single spell. Essence could also limit the
There is already genetics to a certain degree. Your offspring can get some of the traits of its parents. So if you marry a merchant then your offspring may produce gold or they may increase prestige if your sovereign is royalty, and if you marry Janusk they won't get anything from his side (If he doesn't have any traits, I can't remember if he does in the latest build). I haven't paid much attention to attributes, but I wouldn't be surprised if those are passed down also.

We'll have that. But you shouldn't need to build a co

Ships with passengers act like a normal army stack meaning that they can only move at the speed of the slowest unit. They should always be able to move at the speed of the transport (being riding on the ship and all).
yeah, but its crazy to me to say that only a single garden can be built and thats it. i simply can't suspend my disbelief on this. Every plant takes some nutrients from the earth and when these nutrients are depleted no more plants can grow in the area. Normally you don't see this in effect unless you attempt large scale farm

I also think food resources should be treasured and sought out instead of being able to spam level 5 cities full of g
I really don't like the new city building, and feel that this patch is a huge step backwards (sorry). I liked how the player got to build more of an improvement as their city leveled up; it gave the player something solid to look forward to when their city leveled, and it gave players with low civics research a reason to have higher level cities. I also don't see how more studies/temples/etc. are redundant, they actually give you more of something you need (resources),
I vote wholeheartedly for more stock races with full lore. One of the main reasons for my interest in this game is the lore, and although I realize going with custom races won't hurt the overall lore I would still prefer to have the races match the lore to flesh it out as much as possible. In my opinion it is also the wiser decision to chose this option the only chance you have than to forgo it to add an option now that can be integrated later. Furthermore, I think some
Personally, I don't feel that I have enough knowledge at this point to make an informed decision. What differences would the stock races have if you were to go that route? Would they have some different buildings, research, magic, and units (to at least a short extent)? Also, by that I don't mean new textures and particle effects; I mean will they have abilities unique to them in a game changing way? For example, one race may have the ability to summon ogres, and no oth
