Brilliant ideas, I especially like the one about the invisible armor because armor IS ugly, and I do get very tired of everyone looking the same just because we need to wear the latest armor. That idea should be implemented ASAP because good looking characters are a huge thing for me in any game.

I actually like the Watchtower idea. In fact, I am astounded we can't build any field fortifications, watchtowers, camps or whatnot, and are completely limited to founding a new city, which then takes a whole 15 seasons to build just one hedge wall. How about a much smaller army camp you can surround with stockade within a few months? I want my border forts! And watchtowers, definitely. It makes no sense having them only buildable from a city

I'm waiting until we can get more than one soldier or 'figure' into a group of units to start with. Hate building single units; once that change hits, I'll be playing this game silly. But yeah, I concur on the point to wait until FE, because WoM is still unfinished. In the meantime you might want to try playing the game that inspired it, Master of Magic, although you may get hooked.

As long as the game has great support for the modding community and solid multiplayer it will live on for years. Just look at Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne; it's World Editor is one of the most powerful map editing tools ever created, which even allows for triggers in JASS code; which is, admittedly, low-level, but still allows for a very powerful variety of maps. It was released in 2003 and is still going strong, all because of that map editor, and the efforts of the extensiv

Justice has been described as a meaningful word without meaning, a word that holds the most powerful of connotations but lacks the simplest of distinctions, a conspicuous definition. As such justice is defined only in the minds of those who wield the word as a cause, differing so greatly within these perceptions as to rob it of any substantial meaning. In spite of this the concept of justice retains a sense of prestige among all but those who scoff at the notion, giving the word power, despit

I recall one game did a very good job with imperialism and occupation; Age of Wonders. Whenever you conquered a town you generally had to leave a garrison behind, because normally the people are going to resent you and probably revolt and take the town back. This is especially true if your races alignment/beliefs is strictly different from that of the conquered race... For example, because the Elves are a good race and Goblins are an evil race, one conquering the other needs

I agree wholeheartedly with this idea, it is very well thought out and interesting. I did love the traits system in Total War for generals and how many variables there were for gaining them... Would be very interesting indeed to see a similar system applied to cities.
Minimum trained unit group size changed from 1 to 4.
THIS. I get so sick of building individual soldiers... the only units that should be on their own are either monsters or heroes/Soverign. This will make the game so much more interesting to start with and give a better feeling of large scale.

I like this idea, units being trained to use different tactics could easily make or break an army. It would definitely give a new appeal to the Trained units because right now its just a bonus HP adjustment. Historically, soldiers trained to use varying complex formations and tactics had a distinct advantage over others who did not. Just look at the Spartan Phalanx, or the Roman Testudo. However, it doesn't take much 'training' to be able t

Simply because it was deemed too powerful. Entire armies could be wiped out easily with the right spell; now, spells inflict moderate damage, and you need an appropriately high intelligence to use most of the good ones. Magic is still very powerful, though, and very useful when outnumbered or against a superior opponent -- it's the perfect equalizer, and multipurpose, with a variety of functions. I prefer spells that aren't direct damage ones, most of the damage usua

The storyline of Dark Sun fits PERFECTLY with Elemental's setting. The Fallen would be the Defilers and the Kingdoms of Men are the Preservers; it's just perfect. Really looking forward to this one!

I forgot to mention; creatures like Golems or Dragons would have high natural armor because of their composition/scales. Even normal creatures like bears might have a bit of defense simply due to their thick leather hide. Humans have to wear armor.

Really the main reason Elemental doesn't have more than one race is due to the world and storyline. The only creatures who exist are Humans and Fallen, and all the sub-species of Fallen. No Elves, Dwarves, Orcs or anything like that, which really irked me the first time through. Elemental is restricted by it's own background, which doesn't help sales any; people usually appreciate rich, deep gameplay better than storyline. It's still a very good concept, though, and I'

As it stands now Elemental is nothing special when it comes to battles. Really, I had more fun with battles in Age of Wonders or Master of Magic. Age of Wonders had blood and great sounds/music, Master of Magic had speed and crisp graphics for it's time. It just fit well, you know? Anyway, as impressed as I am so far with Elemental's progress on its core system -- particularly the city building aspect -- I'm just disappointed by the battles. It feels thrown
