Start 8 won't work in Start8 Stardock Forums

hi I just reinstalled windows 8 and then windows update 8.2 and start 8 I've configured start 8 like normal however the start8 windows menu refuses to show up no matter what options I choose. I also chose a custom image for start 8 start button but it's not showing up so it's like the Windows 8.1 start button takes precedence over the start8 windows start button so i cant get the start8 windows menu to show up at all in windows 8
