So when pirates all over the world hear a particular company is paying them not to pirate, they will go ahead and pirate the game just to get paid to not do it. How the hell does that work?

I dont see them rushing this, but i dont see them taking 10 years to make it good enough. Its a shame the stores cant just renovate themselves in anticipation of the Christmas season!
Frogboy I dont like piracy and i dont like theft but the fact that you guys at stardock have not gone down the path of "guilty untill proven innocent" i respect your games alot more. More to the point i dont preorder games untill i hear feedback. That is untill Elemental, because of the way you treat your customers. Kudos [e digicons]|-)[/e]
zoinks now i wish i had some artistic brilliance, ahh well back to the "drawing board" badumtish
You tear this system down and some system that breeds discontentment just as much due to the nature of discontentment in human beings towards the situations they were born and raised will pop up instead. Our current situations are all variations on a theme. My situation says that people screw each other over for gain anyway, but if you both gain, as in you enjoy the game, they enjoy making it (one instance) and you supply them with a living at the same time, then thats what you
I was inspired to buy Kings Bounty and its expansion yesterday, so far i havent been dissapointed in the games :)
Ahh cheers i did a little bit of research and once i stop playing through kings bounty ill be sure to buy it [e digicons]:digichet:[/e]

double post due to lag- sorry :(
Google translate! Personally id rather play the game and its beta than wait for a demo to come out :D
Oh dear. Wait a second by reading their fine-print does that mean any further gaming products/mods/maps you make yourself ZehDon will have to have activision written in the most abrasive colours all over it?
As mentioned by others perspective is pretty much the problem i can see here. I have trouble seeing a developer putting their perspective into someone who has enough internet (which lets face it is a luxury item) to pirate the game and enough gal to say to the producers of the game to make it so that it doesn't have drm as well as enough money to buy games after he knows he likes them but then does not have "enough" money to buy a game he doesnt know he lik
Id much rather read a review from the games Artificial Intelligence in binary. That aside form an opinion after you buy the game, nows the time for impressions , not opinions from all those non-developers.
.... i thought the point of gaming companies was to sell and improve games not to have them stolen.
Yes. Each AI's personality is defined in XML. Modders can make their own AI personalities as well.
[e digicons][/e] this and the map editor are going to ensure i have alot of fun.
The BEST solution is for people/cultures to respect IP and copyright.
Thats it in a nutshell, I feel that people need to grow into the idea that just cause its out there for the taking you do not just take it. DRMs still a valid policy but it can definitely not help the process of making Jow Blow respect your property. Thats if its not handled properly.
Yes i have a question, Does each AI have a different personality in how it interacts with people in wartime and diplomacy. Cause it striked me if you can win through both the main quest and diplomacy, the computers obviously going to try and do the same. By the way, the complications of the AI having children will be worse than skynett or even Space Oddysey 2001, your breeding the doom!!! [e digicons]:borg:[/e]
I realise DRM is just how necessary it is now days to stop Jow Blow and his community of active pirates. But then again DRM still makes me uncomfortable in a way, mainly for this reason; People who steal the game dont get restrictions on their pirated game like those who buy their games. As is having to be online to play, having to have the latest patch to play, having NO LAN SUPPORT as in the case of some games. Slow load times, imputting a password every time you play.&nbs
You really are making the case worse by defamation. We know this AI and will continue to interact somewhat intimately with said AI, NOW YOUVE RUINED IT, the AI will never find true peace in the land of elemental. [e digicons]:w00t:[/e] Oh and yeah please instead of "the AI has surrendered" have a "RAGE QUIT" ending or something :D
Piracy is a crime not something to claim as a civil liberty. It is plain and simple making money for the resellers and people who illegally obtain Intellectual Property while taking that money away from those that actually make the bloody stuff. Its not brain-science or even a grey moral wish-wash of opinions. Its putting money into the pockets of those that steal and taking that same money out of the pockets of the product makers that brought you the Intellectual Property
This makes me come up with a few ideas, bet most people would get those same inspirations thinking about multiple maps. If its an included feature without the need to mod people would most definetily mass produce some epic multilayered maps as soon as its released.
Im pretty sure it was more a dissapointment because it was a full price game rather than anything else. That is originally. If youve never played Supcom or TA before this game is good, but still not worth full price. Now that its not however, the game is worth your money, and yes even the multiplayer. Dont discount my opinion based on my dissapointment in where the series is headed as i never even owned or played the predecessors more than once. My dissapointment is that it didn

It's been "dying" forever! ..as we know...it's dying but the various Facebook games will save it! Let us all bow down before farmville, the savior of all pc games!
I suggest farm-town as the next game.. involving sheep [e digicon
Personally i would love to see how the AI works. I mean how many times have i wondered whats going on in the mind of a particularly dumb or smart AI? To answer my own question it depends on whether they are consistently failing or consistently owning me which im hoping its the latter. Balance is a good thing i think but say you play multiplayer alot, AI balance isnt as important as there not being a way to win a certain way 100% of the time with no counters.
Just as a point of contention. On a scale of 1-10. I would think 8.8 would obviously be WAY above "Average".
Oh yeah it was for sure but my point was it wasnt anywhere near the score a SoaSE gamer would give it myself included. The other part of that i forgot to mention was that it got reviewed maybe 6 months after release by everyone because it was more an afterthought for reviewers to
