I voted MoM2. And here is why: I would pay 100 bucks in a heartbeat for a MoM2 with updated graphics, high moddability and some minor improvements (AI, maybe some balance), and I would easily bet another 100 that there are many, many more around that would do the same. I am not saying that every TBS-enthusiast would pay this much, but what I am saying is that I am very, very convinced that such a game would sell extremely well. Think of all the covera
My understanding is that the team wants to bring in more and more concepts from MOM while maintaining some of the things that make Elemental special such as unit customization, on map city building, quests. I would easily pay 20 - 30 bucks for a polished MoM mod (say, Fall From Heaven 2 quality). [e digicons][/e]
Who are you, and why should we give a hoot about your review? Sorry, but I am getting sick of these player reviews, just as I am sick of the "I didn't pay for beta" whining topics. Can't people just stop making new topics for their reviews, and post them all in one Review topic? Like this one?
I could not agree less. Larienna's post is very well done, and most of his/her points are valid.

I like your story. Fun, well written, and of course with a very true key message! Well, I basically like everything you write on these forums (content as well as how you put it). I just hope that Stardock does not only realize that your observations are spot on, but also that they do not take it personally. They are very nice people after all! And no, I cannot give you karma for every single post that you write [e digicons];)[/e]

I voted "I'm disappointed with it". I don't think it is a good sign that I would much rather play MoM again now that Elemental has been released.. Maybe I was just expecting something entirely different.
Instead of "Spellpoint cost 2" and "Spellbok Life", you could use something similar to Magic the Gathering cards, or even the Master of Magic Spellbook. By that I mean graphically representing the spell point cost with a symbol of the type of mana/shard required for each mana point required. This works out great in case spells don't cost a lot of mana. If they end up costing hundreds of points, display a numerical value over the symbol of the mana/shard. Alternatively, a stronger symbo

I have to agree with the OP. The current champion system is disappointing so far in my opinion. Compared to MoM, champions are too numerous feel too random (even if they are not randomly generated) and thus lack "charisma" - "oh, another +2 gildar/turn guy, great, let's move him to the closest city" often simply are mobile resource gainers leveling up does not feel rewarding at all I just loved the heroes system in MoM. While the ba

I like the idea. [e digicons][/e] Maybe to make the "capture the flag" a little less gamey: Instead of having a flag somewhere behind your lines for no apparent reason, a new type of unit could be introduced, the army standard bearer. This guy could be reasonably expensive to produce (and fun since you could design the flag - maybe even a magical/enchanted flag with extra benefits might be a possibility), and his job is to add to the morale of all/nearby troo
Tactical Battles. Tactical battles haven’t been part of the beta but they’ve been heavily discussed. Originally, tactical battles were designed to be RTS. Then Continuous turns. But as time has gone on, it’s become clear that the gameplay that people (and frankly that we enjoyed the most) was more closest to XCom. That is, turn based. Tile based. Moving units to the best spots. And eventually working to have your units in sp

Great idea - this totally needs to get implemented! [e digicons][/e] I suggest that it needs a specific technology to be unlocked though, something like "Beast Equipment Forging".
The paper doll system for inventory is just a standard nowadays, isn't it ?
Yes I guess. Which proves my point in a way [e digicons]:)[/e] I think I remember that this change from "simple item row" to "paper doll" was made from Heroes of Might and Magic 2 to HoMM 3, and in my opinion it added a lot of RPG-feel to it. Also, it helps with the logic (no equipping a dozen rings and two helmets on a paper d

I would like to see some kind of "paper doll" system. In my opinion this would add a lot to the RPG-feel - plus isn't it just more satisfying to drag that newly aquired flaming sword to your right hand instead of clicking on it in a row of items?
What I would like to see, and what might perhaps be an incentive to choose these "less useful" traits is if you could pick two or more of them and they would combine to unlock a third more useful trait- for example, if you chose "lucky" and "outcast," you could pick something like "Leprechaun background" which would allow you to recruit a hero from the Lucky Charms clan. This could provide for some fun gameplay options and would incentivize the

I like it! [e digicons][/e] Seems like this would add some extra fun/challenge to the "create item" spell - which is a good thing in my opinion. Also, it might make all those random battles vs. neutral monsters more rewarding if there is a chance that you will get that one missing reagent in the next dungeon. Good and fun idea, and probably not too difficult to implement!
I like the pic in the op better than what we have right now. At least the UI there had some of the character we traditionally associate with fantasy game UIs, and not just the flat, beige, bland vector lines we have now. It would be nice if they could find a nicer compromise between scalability and character. Only my opinion.
My name is Palinchron and I approve of this message. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
