Yes I know thanks harpo, but I want to enlarge the tree without changing the resolution. I know its a tall order but I hoped there was an .ini or something that could be tweaked. Cheers.

Hi all, I run Sins on a 22" widescreen LCD screen at full resolution, 1680 x 1050 I think. However, I do have some trouble making out the icons within the left hand side units tree and wondered if there was a way to make that bigger but to maintain the overall screen resolution I play in? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers! PicardsRug

So, are the victory conditions reliable then? I mean, surely there are a programed criteria that will determine if an enemy gives up or not. For example, an emeny will surrender if he loses 80% of the planets he owns? Has anyone noticed and pattern to when they surrender as I would certainly hope it is not just random when they are being attacked? Cheers all! PicardsRug

Thanks for all the replies above folks, and a recent mega thanks to Lucid_Collective for such a superb reply - it was REALLY helpful. My conclusion at the moment is still to steer clear from Entrenchment after all things considered. I really do hope the developers address the Starbase fix issue soon so I can spend my hard earned pennies and buy Entrenchment. Cheers again all! PicradsRug

Well this is an interesting subject for me too. Jixra, you kindly answered a previous post of mine and I thought it would be useful to explain why I dont want online gameplay. I have played a few games online over past years and found each and every game to be spoilt by people cheating and modding/hacking the game to give them an advantage. Unreal tournament - cheating galore, Red Alert - cheating galore! I cant stand cheats and so unless I can really trust the oth
Often key worlds are left defenseless while others are fortified to ridiculous proportions (so the AI has no money left to defend other locations). As I've said before, the AI in Entrenchment is far easily to beat due to the fact that they simply don't use or counter starbases appropriately.
Well Darvin3... thanks for your honest answer there and you have further pushed me away from Entrenchment and s

Thanks alot for the replies Ryat and CenturionJixra. Think I will take Jixras advice and steer clear of entrenchment and stick to the original game as I will not be playing online and if the Ai with Starbases is so poor then I dont want to spoil an otherwise great game. I understand your point Ryat about the fact Entrenchment brings so many other things to the game in addition to starbases... but it only takes one very annoying factor to mess up the game and sta

Hi All, I am new to Sins and am still trying to learn the game, but I am enjoying is greatly. Anyway, I figured I would order the Entrenchment expansion and learn it all at once. Haven't ordered yet due to the many and various posts I have read about the AI not building starbases and getting trashed when they run into yours. I have asked this questions before about the (apparent) major problem the AI has with the starbases and have read a few comments that sugg

Being very new to the game I wondered if anyone would be so kind as to explain 'research' for me please. I admit I have only played the game twice so far but get the impression that when researching the 'military' and 'civilian' via the console at the top middle of the screen it simply seems a routine of researching the tiles which are lit because you have (eg) 2 academys (etc). I mean, is there any kind of order to what should be researched and when or is it just a case of...

Hi all, firstly thanks to all those that replied to my other post. secondly, I bought the game and have jumped straight in to playing it. Had my first rather un-nerving experience of the AI attacking and out-numbering me. One thing I could not understand tho... In my haste to get some attacking ships I went to my Frigate Factory and saw it wouldl allow me to build Flak Frigates. I queued up 7 but none of them would build.

Hey Carbon, Volt & CaptainAanderson - Thanks so so much for the great replies folks, great explanations and wording there. Ok, well, that does put my mind at ease and so after a bit more reading tonight I think I might order it online. One question that I have from what captainAanderson said... does the AI team up in a game and then break alliances with its co-AI? Just to give you a background as to why I am

Hi all, Am thinking of buying the game but after reading this forum am a little unsure about certain aspects and hoped some of you could throw some fresh opinions my way please? 1) In the original game I have read that SuperWeapons are just that... Super... but the AI does not use them therefore giving the player a HUGE unfair advantage. Now being someone who does not play online, I am looking for a decent PC game that is not one sided. Is it true that the AI does
