I find Starbases quite effective as said delay tactic. Here's what I tend to do: TEC: Frontline Planets: Max Health, Weapons, and Hangar Capacity "Trader" Planets: Max Health, Hangar, and Trade Capacity Asteroids: Max Weapons, Possibly Health, Trading, Some fighters UCGWs: Max Weapons, Health, and Trading, Defended by 10 Gardas, Some other ability Non-Homeworld Stars: Max Fighters, Health, and Trading

I hate to be a bubble-burster here, but if you want the REAL dirt on Freeman Dyson's infamous megastructure, look here . In actuality, Dyson himself knew a solid, hollow sphere would be a ludicrous proposal in and of itself - what he actually proposed is more commonly known as a Dyson swarm, which is just a bunch of statically-positioned satellites positioned about the star. Just thought y'all could do with the in
A couple more: Kodiak: "Quit clicking on my bare (bear) ass!" (Ripped from Warcraft 3, actually) Crusader: "A poking war, is it? Well, TWO can play THAT game!" Enforcer: "I'd suggest you stop doing that unless you want to be flogged." Ogrov: [Ship's Computer] "Self-Destruct Sequence activated...10...9...8..." *powering down sound* (CO) "Uh...heh heh...nothin' to see here, people. Move on!" Kortul: "Note to self: my Commander is an asshole."<
Okay, this next one may be a bit much, but... Cobalt: "Don't say ANYTHING about my ship - I don't NEED a reminder." Some other ones: Ogrov: "Let's see...'Kill it with fire'...'Kill it with missiles'...'Kill it with...Disco?'" Jarun: "I'm more than meets the eye." (Entrenchment Only) Stilakus: "And for my next trick, I'll procure a rabbit directly from Phase Space." Aeria: "I said I wanted BLUEBERRY muffins!...Oh. Sorry. Hate these mo
There's one glitch I'm finding with the TDN = Trader Defense Network/Navy thing (please note, I'm leaning more towards "Navy" than "Network") - now this is just my personal opinion, but just hear me out... Most ships that have a "insert acronym designation here" beginning these days seem to have the ending of "S" on most ships: British are HMS, USA is USS - for "Ship," in both instances. Granted, during WWII, the ships of the Japanese Navy were designated IJN (Imperial Jap
Kodiak - "Oh SHIT I left the rest of the Fleet behind."
Building on this - "...Oh, oops, I forgot. I AM the fleet!" Hmm...what else... Solanus: "Despite the appearance, I will NOT spare you if happen to harbor marine animals." Jarrasul: "An Egg? That's what they refer to me as? Not that I MIND, but..." Akkan: "I honestly wonder if it's a good idea to have this many c
Ooh! Ooh! Just thought of more good ones! Sivuskras: "Huh? Why is the timer already set on this...oh, SH-" (BLAM) Javelis: "...Seriously, these missiles won't fire themselves." *An Alarm Sounds* "Aw, hell, not AGAIN..." Marza: (A random crew member) "Do you think he's compensating for something?" (Marza CO) "I HEARD that!" Revelation: "Reply hazy; try again."
*would throw his hat in for voicing, but has no mic* :(
Suggestions: Love: Love, Actually (PM's Love Theme. That is all.) Hyper/Adrenaline: Tomorrow Never Dies (Best of the Brosnan Bonds, if you ask me) Frustration: The Great Escape, if you think about it. Other than that, I got nothing.
I only noticed the colonizing bug occured when I got level 3 colonization - but until that point, things worked fine (I also had 3 mines available around the desert planet that the bug occured). Other than that, I haven't tried the other caps yet, but I aim to once the hotfix comes out. :)
I'd thought it'd be funny if they had "pissed" responses like in Warcraft/Starcraft. A good idea for the Hoshi: "Keep doing that, and I'll show you how accurate the Grey Goo scenario REALLY is..." [e digicons][/e]
Just this. And this, too. You'll have to sign up to listen to either of 'em (it's free, don't worry).
Here's a few ideas: Brown Dwarfs: These are stars that never quite made it - the elements for fusion were there, but their mass wasn't great enough to start it. However, they still have pretty impressive gravitational fields, and they are still incredibly hot. I dunno how ships would be affected, but it's an idea nonetheless. Blazars: These are quasars that are like the previously mentioned "Space Fountains," except they shoot out a jet of all the stell
The Ultimate Anti-Fighter Combo: Kol w/Flak Burst followed shortly by Halcyon w/Telekinetic Push. First, Flak Burst wipes out most, if not all fighters surrounding the ships, while the epic Bitch-Slap of Doom(tm) then deals damage to whatever's left AND knocks them out of range.
*mind explodes from the sheer awesomeness of the pics* Ow...>.0;
So, uh, guys, you gettin' this thing re-tooled for v.1.04 now that it's out? [e digicons]^_^'[/e]
Downloadin' now! Can't wait 'til the weekend to use it!
Bah. The only AV software you need are Spybot Search and Destroy and AVG. The latter nails everything the former can't see.
Hmm...here's an odd one: RevelationXDunov Combo. Guidance reduces the cooldown (or maybe I'm thinking of another ability), while Flux Field keeps the antimatter usage at miniscule levels. Throw in a Kol for Finest Hour, and you've got a Gauss Machine Gun of doom on hand. [e digicons]B)[/e]
Dunov shield restore is great, but if you run into a Radiance, Revelation, Jerrasul, Antorak, or the new and improved Kortul you could find one of the two disrupted while the other is focus fired. One of my favourite comboes is Jerrasul, Skirantra, and Vulkoras. People vastly underestimate the power of repair cloud, while nanos can rip apart enemy capital ships, and as the battle drags on the Vulkoras bombard
The Rapture/Radiance/Progenitor Combo's already been mentioned, so I'll skip that one. Antorak/Jarrasul hasn't been mentioned, though (and I only JUST thought of it, actually). The Antorak uses Distort Gravity to close the distance with the target, and once it gets there, the Jarrasul uses Gravity Warhead to slow the enemy down even more and prevent it from escaping. Now, how about some allied racial combos? [e digicons]:P[/e]
Seeing this topic again makes me wish the names could be longer... (sigh)
I recently made a post in the Capital Carriers topic about what to do w/the Skirantra's Scramble Bombers ability. It goes thusly: Nanite Shockwave: The Skirantra releases a massive discharge of Nanites from its hull, disabling enemy abilities and also collectively linking their fates, causing them to take an equivalent amount of damage spread across the affected ships. Costs 100 AM. LEVEL 1: Range - 40
