Another way to implement this would be for the maximum total for any tile to be an option set at the beginning of the game. 9 would be the default maximum but you would be able to choose numbers from say 5 to 13. That would allow everyone to pick how they want this game mechanic to work.

I like the buff icon idea. I hope Stardock will consider it. Whatever you do, Stardock, please do not nerf Swarm. It has made the tactical game a lot more fun.
I have got to say that I am completely impressed with LH. It is almost as much of an improvement over FE as FE was over EWOM. 1. The swarm mechanic is great. Early on even low level units like mites can do real damage if there are enough of them around you. This makes tactical planning much more important than before. 2. More random events. In a short time I have run into several of them. One - the pl
Yes the answer is 42 but what is the question?
I have played LH for a few minutes and so far so good:' 1. Game is stable - no crashes. 2. New hero recruiting system works as described - some interesting choices have to be made. 3. A lot of small things are better - for example it is easier to tell how much experience each hero or unit is getting after a battle. 4. New x large map is great. Thanks Stardock for all your hard work. This beta's initial impressi
DLC Ideas: 1. More loot items and better assignment based on level of difficulty of the lair. 2. Sets of loot items that add bonuses when more than 1 item is equipted and even more bonus when all equipted. These would be rare and found scattered in various lairs. 3. Tie level of loot items to game world difficulty level (the harder the game the better the loot). 3. More monster types. 4. After a long wait t
Looks great. Many, many good additions and improvements. Only one that I don't like is further reducing the number of individuals in a "company" to 6 from 7. This continues the trend to reduce the size of all regular units. IMHO this reduces the fun level of the game. I liked the old much larger unit sizes. <span style="font-size
Thanks. I can see that I left out a number of features that have already been announced. Overall it looks like LH has the potential to be a lot of fun. Now if I could just get someone from Stardock to answer questions B.................
Based on Frogboy's latest post as well as the original posts (including the FAQ), here is what we know about LH: 1. The beta may start this week. 2. The hero recuitment system will change from them being placed on the map to the heroes approaching you based on fame. A few will be the result of quests. 3
It would be helpful if someone from Stardock would give us an update on when they expect the LH beta to start.
I don't think we'll see the beta this week as the Steam keys have not yet been sent. Since the LH beta will be Steam only nothing will happen until the keys go out. This is one case where I hope I am wrong! An update (1.4?) for FE might happen though.

Looks good. What's the latest on timing for the start of the beta?
Update: I installed new video drivers and FE now runs again. So something done between 1.3 and 1.32 required that update. Please disreguard the request for assistance. I have had almost now crashes with FE since 1.0. It's been stable as a rock. I updated from 1.31 to 1.32. Now whenever I try to start FE the screen goes dark for a few seconds a
Thanks for the update. Any update on the timing for the start of the LH beta?
I am very much looking forward to FE:LH - it sounds like it has great additions to an already great game system. However. I am sorry that it will be Steam only. I recently started using Steam when the LH announcement came out with the mention of it being Steam only. My brief experience is that Steam slows up shuting down my computer and on some ocasions slows down start up. I am sure of both as my system tells me what programs are
Great News! Thanks for all the hard work. .................Downloading................
Does 1.3 still look like about two weeks from now?
Derek, I see that FELH will be steam only. Will we be able to play FELH without being connected to the internet? I know that Steam requires an internet connection for a number of games. Thanks.
There was some mention by Frogboy of some announcements by Stardock this week. Expansion?, DLC?, ????
This is great news! I think 85 is about the right score for EFE at this stage in its development. Now if this will just translate into additional game sales, that will help fund future expansions, etc.
The AI in 1.2 is better at an overall strategic attack plan. In my most recent game the AI kept attacking at cities on one side of my empire. As I shifted troops to counter those attacks it launched a major attack on the other side of my empire from which I had just moved my troops! It was a real surprise and worked great - they rolled up that part of my empire. The AI is also better at moving heavily damaged troops out of the front line
Actually AOWSM with unofficial patch 1.4 and the BNW mod was a lot of fun single player. I still play it from time to time. Obviously our experiences were not the same. I am really looking forward to AOW3.
Great idea. In order to craft the following would be needed: 1. Knowledge would have to be researched for each type of craft (weapons, armor, etc). 2. I suggest these be items much more unique than the ones that can now be found in game. However, the higher level (more powerful) the item then the greater the cost and time required. Each item could have from one to say five (?) enchantments on it. The more the more e
I very strongly that the right direction is to continue developing the EFE game system. At this point it is already and lot of fun. It's not MOM or AOWSM - its different and very, very good. I think adding to the richness of he EFE system by DLC, expansions, and perhaps even sequals is the right route. I am sure others will have many great ideas but here a few that imho would be good: <span style="text-decoratio
