To summarize somewhat, it seems from the poll that about 1/4 of posters don't want Steam, and that the rest wants it or is fine with it. Now it's a business decision most likely, and the rest of input will be from factors not related to us, stuff like what Frogboy described in his post (payment schedules, negotiation with publisher, etc). My 2 copper pieces: If your games become Steam only, you will lose me as a customer permanently. I don't rent games. Either the game is mine to play/install/mod/delete/whatever from now till the end of time, barring failure of my backups, or I am not paying for it. I did buy one Steam game by mistake - Skyrim.
