Huh. I had completely forgotten about the Pantheon. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way of specifying what game type you want though. And on top of that, I sat for several minutes and couldn't find a match. The custome game lobby is nearly dead too. What happened to this game? Where did everyone go?

So I've just recently reinstalled Demigod and remembered how fun it is and how much I enjoy the creative aspects (the demigod character concepts and voice acting and all) but judging by these forums, the multiplayer scene is in a bit of trouble. Has there been any word from the devs mentioning adding a matchmaking system to allow people to find games faster and easier instead of a lobby system exclusively? Take DoWII for instance: has a lobby system and a ranked matchmaking sy

Just noticed this today. I had deleted the Stardock Games directory from my Start menu the other day (which only contained the Demigod directory with links to the game, readme and something else), and today, after the latest patch, found the directory in-tact in my Start menu once again. The thing is, I only access the game purely by launching Impulse. As such, I don't want the Demigod game directory cluttering up my Start menu. This is under Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.</p
i smell a sarcastic troll post ?
I don't do sarcasm. I mean it. Doesn't matter which came first. Demigod is a standalone game. A mod for a completely different game can't beat it. There's nothing to discuss, nothing to compare. Especially since Demigod is quite new and will only get better with time.

Played frost Torch Bearer a bit recently. He has some wicked control, but...I've always been one for looks over stats, in any game. Likewise, looks/lore/concept over abilities. As such, a fiery Torch Bearer is quite a challenge. Having basically only damaging and self/ally buffing abilities makes escaping on time all that much harder. But I just can't resist burning everything in sight. >.

More kindling for the fire... In short: Demigod isn't DotA. DotA is based on Warcraft III: an already outdated game with horrible graphics. Demigod is better, Demigod has more maps, Demigod is more thoroughly developed and will continue to be improved! Demigod is a standalone game with its own unique heroes and everything. Demigod will rule the world!!! *cough*

Actually, I think it'd be nice if the forum settings could be used to turn off the rich text editing reply field. It seems to cause noticeable loading lag, even on my broadband connection at home. The forum/site does indeed seem quite "heavy".

My router has the static IP. I used to only have one PC with it. Now that there are two computers in the house, I got a router. So both computers use the router via DHCP. I understand that the router requires configuration, but that at least can be configured as I need it. At lack of a static IP (router aside), I'd not be able to get any outside connections and whatnot, since I'd be behind the ISP's NAT with IP masquerading or what have you. No static
@novex: He is probably paying extra for a static IP address, but I'm not sure why he'd need one as a residential user. @LordMerlock: Your game is working because of Demigods NAT punchthrough doing its job, taking away the need for you to forward your ports on your router. You will connect to players faster if you forward your ports, but it isn't going to affect your latency in game.
Aye, I pay the extra for a
I know this doesn't contribute to the thread, but I had to add a comment since you brought up noob's and their reaction to Sedna. I played in a 4x4 today and within 5 minutes we had a rage quit from my own team. The guy quit saying, "Our Sedna sucks, she never heals any of us". It's a good thing he quit, too, the AI was a far better player and we went on to win handily without him.
Unfortunately, it's usually the other way around.

Just ran across this after switching my own avatar... It seems all avatars are named "icon.jpg" for all respective forum members. This makes them stay in cache until a full refresh is called (Ctrl+F5 and the like), which doesn't occur to everyone, I imagine. Perhaps it would make sense to assign random names to the avatars or whatnot, like popular forum software tends to do? I'm sure the forum support could think of an optimal way, especially since each avatar is in th

Hm, well, I must say my survivability went way up with Circle of Fire. I now don't pick up Fireball as soon as mentioned and support allies with Fire Aura and get better stats, but overall, I doubt I'd be doing as well with Fireball as I had been trying to before. Guess I underestimated the power of Circle of Fire. Great tutorial and followup posts. Much appreciated.

The multiplayer UI is in definite need of improvements. We need a Friends list, an inviting function and more info, as stated above. Even the horribly supported Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth II had all that. So I hope we'll see improvements soon.

Hm, my style differs in that I do my best to live up to the Assassin title and get fireball first and foremost. In fact, I don't get Circle of Fire at all until there's nothing else left to acquire. Am I wrong in assuming that using Circle of Fire early on makes the Torch Bearer vulnerable? I mean, you basically have to be near your enemies to cast it, and while it might be great against reinforcements, if you face up against a Hound or Rook or anyone doing heavy melee damage,

I ran across that post in the General forum section regarding port forwarding just now and I got to thinking. I have an external IP address I pay for along with my broadband connection, however, I use a personal router to allow my PC and a laptop to access the net via one connection. The thing is, I've not set any port forwarding and Demigod has been working just fine. So I'm curious, should I setup port forwarding anyway, or does my having a non-NAT IP address provide me with

Hm, well, I myself am relatively new but I use fiery Torch Bearer with relative success. It was said that he is for assists...and there's nothing wrong with that. The way I see it, it's important to stick behind your ally as a pure fire Torch Bearer, dishing out damage while remaining unharmed. That coupled with AoE to quickly take down reinforcements while leveling and gaining stronger Fireballs, well, that just seems like the fiery Torch Bearer play style, and I like it. Esp

Hm, well, after playing some more and getting the hang of the game, I must say a lack of a tutorial really isn't much of a problem. I got the hang of it in no time. I was first under the impression the game would be boring since it seems so simple at first glance, but boy, was I wrong, heh. It's just the kind of game I've been looking for. Went through Starcraft, Warcraft III, Warhammer: Mark of Chaos and Dawn of War, but this is the first one I've really felt like sticking with.

A simple question, but not seeing any stickies regarding this, I figured I'd post a thread... I purchased Demigod today and ran into somewhat of a problem right off the bat. Am I being unusually blind or does the game not have a tutorial...? Are players just expected to keep playing new games and finding everything out on their own? I'm not entirely against self-discovery and all, but such a method of starting new games has great potential for missing th
