At this point, I think that a better AI is probably more important. I mean, lets face it, multiplayer for this game didn't take off. A better single player AI could very well be a better selling point than upgrading the multiplayer.

Lol - I'm thinking about running the game on 2048 x 1153 (16:9) - any problems?
Maybe we should ask Ironclad to just in the next patch to go back to Entrenchment 1.00 and Sins 1.10. It's a very imperfect solution, true, but it does represent a step forward over the current status quo. We'll see what bugs there are, have them fix it, if there's any more Illuminator like tactics (which I don't think there were in 1.10), we'll ask them to fix. Other than that, the game was fine as it was. Isn't it sad sometimes when dev

The real ship difficult to think of is the Vulkoras. He's so... different, from any other voice. I'm not sure if the captain even IS a Vasari! [/quote] +1 He sounds like a Klingon from Star Trek.
Let's see what people can make for each in their individual races (and individual hulls).
For 1 vs 1 duels: Kol frame again (but make it look like a Vulkoras to make it look cool [e digicons][/e] ) - Detonate Antimatter (from Radiance they won't be able to use special abilities back) or perhaps Ion Bolt (disable the target) - Vengeance (from Rapture - only this time it also affects you) - Nanite Dissasembler (from Evacuator - get rid of enemy armor fast) or perhaps Power Surge (rapid fire!) - Finest Hour (not just for the boost, but a

Btw, if you're actually looking for a pure-combat vessel, maybe the Marza should also be included.
I'd have to say that because there is such a debate, there's no best; it's all based on your playing style: Kol: - Best hp and armor - Flak bust for anti-fighter defense; gauss gun for single targets - Finest hour is a really nice ability; considerably raises firepower, rate of fire, and regenerates anti-matter - Adaptive forcefield for defense Radiance - Highest shields, weakest armor - Animosity us

At heart, I think that the limitation is the fact that this is a 32 bit app. Any solutions will involve switching. What I wonder is if the app could be converted to be a native 64 bit or we could get an option to go in 64 bit mode (ex: like in my PC, I have Internet Explorer x86 and then x64). I wonder if that is possible with GC2.
There doesn't appear to be any real solutions at this point. Pong in space sometimes works. Any way to implement that special switch? Here, read this: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/vista-workshop,1775-7.html Can we ask Stardock how much trouble it may be to have the game converted to 64 bit maybe? Or perhaps both x86 and x64. It is possible to have 2 versions together (on Vista x64, you've got IE x86 and IE x64). I use Firefox, but t

Lol - I just noticed something new. The game seems to crash with an out of memory when I save and tells me to increase virtual memory, even though it is only using less than 2.5 Gb out of the 4 Gb + 2Gb of virtual ram on my system.

I can't launch new ships unless I go from planet to planet and launch them one by one. If I save, quit, and reload, I usually will be ok for several turns before the same thing happens. I assume this is memory related.&nbs

The top several races have pretty much researched everything, and the factors on the ships are huge. Most of the mine resources are unmined now. I
Come to think of it, another idea might be: Custom Race: - Luck - Creativity - Maxed out economics - Maxed out weapons or defenses - 2 points in happiness - Super Breeder - Universalist Party - Altarian Tech Tree Should be able to take advantage of the high creativity, good luck, etc. No weapons penalty (unlike Altarians). Good growth and other combat, plus good economy. Use superior
I think that for game balance purposes, I'd advocate allowing Terror Stars to mount defensive modules. Same with Ascension Starbases.Basically, things like Battle Stations, Overlord Armor, etc. should be allowed. They should be allowed some basic defense. The only effective tactic that I've seen so far with Terror Stars is to send in some constructors (5 to each solar system) to a civilization that you wish to go to war with. Put them right beside each star. Build them

Like the rest of the AI, they keep a few ships in orbit. Unless you've got Doom Rays, Nightmare Torpedoes, and Black Hole Guns, along with the top armor, PD, and shields, you don't really have the firepower to take them on. It would cost several fleets to take on the defenses sometimes.
I think that maybe, for the next patch, we should request greater control over the mega events like when you select or unselect the mega events, you get a window saying which events you want enabled or disabled (ex: pirates, disease, Dread Lords, that really annoying one that limits you to 5 tiles / turn for ships - which I consider a real annoyance, etc.)
