I'm having the problem too. As other people alluded to earlier, i didn't even know I had the problem until I played the game on my laptop which had the correct visuals (but suffers from the /nosound problem). Nvidia 7600

Yeah, with the new update it seems to be fixed.
There are two places to allow for pre-release updates -- you can right click on the task tray, choose settings, go the general tab, and then click the box to allow pre-release updates. Unfortunately, this box doesn't do anything. You have to click the impulse icon on the top left corner of the impulse reactor window, and use THAT to allow pre-release updates. This one works. The one on the task-tray needs to be fixed.
Yeah I played in an actual 4v4 for the first time without anybody dropping... To go back to normal, just turn off "show pre-release versions" then click verify install. I think that goes back to the old update.
When beta patch first came out, I didnt install it and was able to play a handful of 2v2 games without much problem. I decided to try out the beta patch -- and now I can't play at all. Aside from being harder to find games, when I do find one and connect to everybody (2v2 or 3v3) the game loads, waits at the load screen for all the players to load the game, then eventually decides to time-out and drop a player with the "a player has left the game" sound. Unfortunately, the player is m
NVIDIA 7600 card, core2 duo at 2.5 Ghz -- even with graphics at full fidelity and highest settings, there is no graphic for the circle of flame on the TB. You can see the cast animation, but no circle of flame shows up on the ground to see where the spell is located. Its quite annoying because its hard to avoid if you can't see it. On my laptop, the circle works fine, even on lowest graphics settings.
HOL is not overpowered. For most games, its actually cheaper to just buy potions. Over the course of your average game, use potions instead of the HOL -- you'll find that you probably didn't use >10 potions (which is the cost of the HOL). Potions are cheaper, and let you buy other items at the same time. Early game advantages translating into late game advantage is the key to the game, and the by the time you've saved enough for the HOL, you were probably better off getting potions and ite
While it certainly sounds plausible and this is probably the problem for some people, i have a laptop with a Core 2 Duo at 2.2 Ghz and onboard audio -- I hope that this processor is adequate to handle the sound load. If not, then there needs to be an even lower setting on the audio -- its hard to imagine any audio processing taking up any significant CPU load to cause that big a drop in performance. The other thing is that when I try to force sound on and play through t
An AOE totem is a good idea , but I agree with the other posters who said that it should provide all of the abilities from the start and just scale in % as you go up; otherwise the balance won't be right. I also don't like the idea of a %XP bonus because I think that balancing it would be really difficult... Consider the option of making it attackable, so that an opponent with good micro can deal with it; the tradeoff is either cost/cooldown (for spamability) or p
Most games lock the mouse. Its quite annoying that Demigod doesn't lock the mouse. Personally, I like to use screen edges to scroll (habit from the starcraft/warcraft days) and (if any devs read this) I'd prefer a usable minimap that lets you move the screen around the map by clicking the minimap. At any rate, the solution for _your_ problem is to get capturelock or mousejail or something similar. They're small freeware programs that let you set up a custom shortcut to
*begin rant * I don't understand how a game like this could be released when there are so many obvious issues. First of all, the engine itself is still buggy. The sound engine is still screwing up the game, and there's plenty of people out there (myself included) who can only play with /nosound. How do you release a game that only works when you disable sound?! From the looks of the forum, there's enough people out there with this problem that it
Yeah I'm having problems with framerates too. I've tried /nosound, and it definitely helps. With /nosound, framerates are around 20-30. Without it, it drops to 5-8 pretty frequently. I'm not sure if this is a bug or just really crappy audio performace, but jeez, audio should never have THAT big an impact on framerates. Specs: Core2 Duo @ 2.4 GHZ 4 GB RAM Nvidia 8600M GT (laptop) Sigmatel onboard audio<
Changing the video settings doesn't do a thing. Didn't even realize I was missing anything until I played it on my laptop and a different video setting... Running DX10 with a GeForce 7600 -- is this too old to support the highest lvl of graphics details? Because on this system, the highest lvl of video settings is far below the highest lvl on my other system. In both cases, though, changing the video settings doesn't seem to change the game, even if I restart. </
Are there any good sites explaining the details of game mechanics? I can't find much information anywhere on a lot of the details in the game. Its hard to make decisions on purchases/flags/upgrades etc unless you can figure out what its worth. Many of these mechanics can be tested or found on tooltips, but it helps to have it a compendium somewhere... Things like: Grunts: XP and gold per grunt, HP, armor, damage, attack rate for all the different grunts/minions/upgrades. How is X
I'm aI have a dual monitor setup running on NVIDIA hardware. I use it on Dualview mode to run dual monitors. I'm used to WC3 and DOTA style interface, andI like to use the edge of the map to move the screen. Unfortunately, the problem is that while the top, bottom, and left side of the screen can lock the cursor (and the cursor) has no where to go, the right side doesn't. Meaning it acts kind of like a windowed app (despite the fact that it
