In the poll, https://www.elementalgame.com/journals, nearly everyone has rated the beta good to great. Yet, reading this..thread..you would think the game was in dire straits. What are the developers supposed to think?
I was unaware this poll even existed! People from the forums better get their butts over there quick! And just fyi not all enchantments are worthless. Many city enchancing spells

@moi-meme While you make a lot of interesting points, your rating system seems abritrary and just an attempt to drop some zeroes on the game. Also it doesn't seem like you have actually played much of the game. Did you know you can only get 'Gentle Rain' an enchantment that improves the food by 20% with wind/water? Contagnation requires death and wind.. there are several other spells like this, and it is likely just a start. You mention your cities at 'late&#

This doesn't need to happen right away, but at some point during the beta I would like the option to create a customized tactical battle. Anywhere from placing obstacles on the terrain to giving each unit the most rediculous gear/traits. You could let us assign levels, or simply introduce unit combinations that you want looked into for balance purposes. While there are a lot of things that still need balancing (such as pacing), roughing out the edges of some of the same-tech same-

On that note the 25% chance to get 1 xp is completely rediculous. This is the exact ammount it provides in fall from heaven, except the

First strike implies the ability to counterattack. I'm uncertain if it would be possible to include counterattacks against certain types of units only, barring that I would be okay with reintroducing the counterattack mechanic. In the event that weapon damage types get introduced, I hope they consider providing bonuse to champions based on specific weapon (or damage) type. Otherwise the idea of carrying around 8 different types of weapons for each character would be a v

@ Guryon given that mana is a limited resource and cliking the 'attack' button is not, I do not see this as a fair balancing mechanic. Also units and buildings constructed are limited, and I don't want to encourage the idea of repeatedly putting useless military units in queue to be disbanded for the purpose of leveling an administrator. That said, I don't see why administrators couldn't come with a +x xp per turn while stationed in a city.

Territory & Tactics: Zones of control are a good idea. The 10+ movement available on a 14 tile map is not. It shouldn't be 'easy' to work cavalry around to archers that have a front line defense, but it shouldn't be impossible either. Limiting tactical moves to units is a solid

Pacing can be done with buildings as well as technology, or a combination of both. I dislike research when it is used purely as a crutch, and posted as much about the civics tree earlier. The developers have already stated they don't intend to make any 'major' changes, which means removing the tech tree entirely probably won't happen. Personally I have no issues with it, in fact it is probably considerably easier to balance pacing using build times and numbers of

I had a whole army of death mages, but then I ran into an army of golems, and they told me to shove my poison magic up my ass. I asked, how? And then they showed me... Another reason that I thing the mechanics of single unit vs grouped unit thing should be changed, but no one listens to
You clearly aren't playing on large maps.
Playing on larger maps shouldn't justify higher move speeds, it should encourage fielding more armies to cover the land a single army unit cannot. Playing on a larger map implies that you accept the inevitalbe requirement to have a larger number of cities, larger number of armies, and overall changes the scope of the game. If you would prefer
I don't think things are as dire as you imply. The city building and unit customization are still very fun. Yes, they could use some work, but I don't think the systems have to be scrapped. The problem is just that champions are OP. This isn't something that can't be fixed. Champions just need to get some major nerfs so that the other parts of the game can shine.
&nbsp

I'm sure most of you have noticed by now that cities you conquer are weirdly reduced to zero population. This is probably a bug or a big oversight, but even if the city gets reduced to half I think it is a bad idea, as the defender takes a big hit for possibly a very minor unit positioning error. Here is my proposition of how conquering cities should work for both the attacker and the defender: Cities that are conquered lose zer

@Das123 First, I think the loss of all population is some sort of bug or oversight, given that magnar has a useless faction trait because of it. Second, I do not think we are playing the same game. An extra city is a huge boost in your economy (especially if you are only limited to four), even if it does not increase your actual production. You would easily trounce the opposition if your economy was 3 times the size, err assuming the units get balanced properly for this
Each soldiers should have to pass an accuracy check to strike rather than just one.
It already works this way... Check the damage average you are supposed to do versus the ammount you actually do against a stack with a high dodge chance. You will notice a stark difference.

@stupidty10 .... Is there something that can be done about posts that copy and paste information from other posts with intent of hijacking threads? This is getting on my nerves. And sorry, off-topic. If you base hero level with technology level then the ammount of time it takes to research that technology needs to be similar to the time it takes to level the champion. I'm not completely certain that this is viable, and would require extensive tweaking, as w

4. Diplomatic capital is useless. & 14. Where are my mage troops? And my fantastic creatures? These two statements answer each other as you use diplomatic capital to hire fantastic creatures But.. the current state of fantastic creatures is indeed useless, which I guess does make diplomatic capital useless. The limit on hiring is also abysmally low. <st

This is a pretty big oversight! As a side note you should move this (by editing the category) to the FE Support forum so the devs get wind of it and can get a fix out asap!

@taltamir I wouldn't go so far as to say that mage talents are useless, though I agree they are measured unfairly (as it takes five level ups to max out the skill), some of which lead to spells that are not wholey useful. Most combat related abilities do not require that many and tend to get better as they get higher. I'm also a bit perplexed at how you came to the conclusion path of the assassin is better. This is in response to the original post: My distaste for all things random aside, I'm at a loss as to what route you are taking in implementing this. Are the skills in between levels left blank because you haven't thought of what they will be, that they will intentionally be nothing (and give stat boosts or something), or that they will use the same random pool already present. And on that note: How do you plan to organize these random traits? You suggested
