died without a single shot being fired.
Meh, that could be disputed. Many uprisings (Shay's Rebellion... etc) that led to the formation of our current USA did indeed feature violence. Of course, then you could argue whether or not the uprisings really had any impact on the writing of the Constitution and all that and we could argue for a while... I'm a huge cheapskate, so if I were in your position I wouldn't have bought it. Do I regret spending $40 on the game though? No, I had my good times with it. Demigod honestly could've been such a great game. It just shows how crazy the video game industry is. One messed up launch and it was prett
Then why are there still PC releases? Why are there still PC exclusive companies in business todays still posting profits? Why are companies even bothering with DRM when consoles make all the money? Because PC Gaming is alive and well. The PC industry has evolved and its still evolving and they want some of that Pie. The biggest new innovations are still home to the PC and everyone knows it.
This post sums up the whole thread. Clearly, th
I just don't understand how they could go to the proverbial drawing board and make a list of everything CnC is and slowly start crossing them out.
It's just another instance of a big publisher trying to cash in on what they think is the latest "fad." It just shows how distant they are from the actual gaming community. Seriously, WiC and CoH was pretty cool, DoW2 pushed it, but we definitely DO NOT need it in CnC.
enough ninja for you? hehe...though i thank you, that's not quite what I was thinking of, it really is the first person vibe I'm after. Kind of like rpg/fps balance that deus ex achieved. I don't enjoy the 3rd person mechanic, or gamepads for that matter.
Try the Naruto mod for Half-Life. The Thief series also might have what you are looking for. You might not be "ninja," but you will be ninja enough.
EA is getting better now. They use to be absolutely horrible, using Activation Limits and SecuROM. I don't really give a crap about Ubisoft anymore though, I was going to by Prince of Persia but was turned off by the lack of DLC. Now, Ubisoft has zero games that interest me at all.
Overlord: $40 down the drain while it sits there unfinished. The concept wasn't even unique in a good way.
Yea Guild Wars is the best
Was the best. A business plan that just does not work and several questionable additions to the game because of that certainly shot it down from the top. I'm willing to bet over half of the people singing Guild Wars's praise doesn't even frequent the game. The only people playing that game right now are the people doing Hard Mode quests with their heroes. Every other type of player have pretty much moved on.
This review has gotten me sort of excited for Mass Effect. Here's for hoping that it comes on the holiday sale for Steam (and waiting three days for it to download if I do get it)!
Quoting Kodiak888, reply 1A bit on topic, the largest problem I have with Impulse, Steam, etc, is that you are made very aware that you are only buying a liscense for the game. You don't own the game. Before, you had a disk and could play the game whenever you'd like. Now DRM and restrictive means can loose your access to your games and have little recourse to ever play them again. IMO, this is the true nature of DRM, and pirating is just
I usually go minion Erebus, with points focused in Coven and Increased Conversion. I only put a point in Mist or Charm though. One point in Mist is enough to avoid damage, and one point in Charm is enough to interrupt longer spells or items.
You might as well save yourself some trouble and say never join a game without a good person on your team.
Im no marketing major, though I do have an MBA from a top 20 school. I dont think you can revitalize a game once its release is boogered.
This. Once you are out, you are out.
What it needs is a SEQUEL.
Actually, that would probably be very counter-productive. If they released a sequel before the current game is fixed, then it would make them look very bad.
Was it ever uphill?
Yes. More innovative FPS is going down-hill. Console multiplayer FPS is definitely going uphill. Think about it, three years ago (before the 360 which came out sometime 2006) playing a console FPS online wasn't such a common thing. Now, you'd be crazy not to get into the craze. The console FPS games (and all console games in general) are starting to become more and more like PC games with their features,
Definitely going to piss some people off with this build.
Tales of Symphonia *gets shot for naming console title* Rented, then bought pretty much right after returning the game. This honestly started my love affair with Japanese stuff. Hell, I just watched two episodes of anime and I have finals tomorrow. Honestly, I just can't think of another title that really grabbed me after that. Most other games impressed after an hour, but afterwards it's more "good not great."
He wasn't trolling. He was giving us his opinion on the game in a non-offensive manner, and he was right about most of his points.
Let's see just how many points he got correct:
The game is as good as dead, the handful of players remaining are still dealing with connection problems, desync exploits, and developers who promise updates and never release on time.
