I shall bump this thread as if the OP is not coming back, someone takes the glorious path he traced for us and makes this Mod. A Song of Fire & Ice is to glorious to not be made as a mod.

Well, i pretty much agree with this review. Past the initial disappointment of the launch, the game itself is very addicting despiste its flaws so i can't wait for SD to patch it up.

Demigod wasn't made by SD but just published if i'm correct as for Elemental (freaking crack that makes me play although it's 7AM here...), it's been published "early" because Brad was too enthusiast and blinded about it. Edit: Darned, Tempestwrath was faster.

Perhaps it will be fixed and upon slaying a sovereign, as in OP's case, the daughter would rule the empire and be a vassal to her mother. That'd be freaking awesome ! Any ideas on if/when it'd be added mods ?

My point Khardis, exactly that kind of slavery. As for the raiding part, picture a city with a mine or whatever next to it. It's not a part of the city yet and raiding it (and getting some money in the process) allows to harcele the opponent even if you can't take his city when you don't have the power yet.

Like your suggestions Khardis but why would be slavery be evil ? In our civilizations it is, as we slowly progressed culture-wise and stop treating other humans as slaves. But eh, why would they care for other civs/races ? Or even people like them but from another country in thoses hard times ? It ain't exactly jolly over there and you have to do whatever you can to make your people survive so i don't see any caricatural side to slavery there. And again, what about unlocking raiding e

theomni > as much as i like so ideas, i can't go the "with Sovereigns power vs peoples power" one. Sovereigns are all powerful being and are followed for this very reason, so i can't see why the people would rebel against the one who brought 'em salvation in a wasteland. Archonsod > Not bad at all. A paladin-like kingdom (even daring to go loyal/evil if needed), very stucked-up against a multi-cultural empire, expansive and aggressive but good with its people.

It always depends on how it presented. Did you read "The black compagny" ? It's about a mercernary band and you can't help but liking them even if they're far from being good-doers. And if you look at FFH2, they're a lotta evil civs far from the babies eaters. Again, you just have to think a little further than the usual clichés. You can be evil AND kickass/classy.

Well, let's try to be seen in the flood everywhere :Þ I know, like any other BT there is A LOT to add to the game to fully make something that could look like what we've been promised a year ago [/troll] but there is one thing that tickles me where it's not funny with the Empires: except from their tiles, they're not that evil. Sure, you recruit orcs and stuff, but who says orcs are evil (CF Orcs, by Stan Nichols, awesome book). So, what about making

Well, if not a double click zoom, what about a mouse wheel zoom on the cursor ? Like the Suprem Commander's one which is quite usefull and would be good on Elemental too imo.

Well, i can see why you want to use it to select units but it seems to me a single click is good enough. And a zoom on double click would be very useful on a big mag (remember the biggest map on elemental is x2/4 the size of the biggest one of Civ 4), enabling you to go quickly from one side to another side of the map.

Well i think this would be a cool addition when your on the cloth map. With the development of his kingdom, players will have a lot of things moving around one the map, cities to built up and targets to attack. Players will have to unzoom/rezoom everytime they want to select the unit on the other side of the map. Then, why not allow a zoom in in the location the player double-clicks on ?
