They just make me go "why didn't you just try it yourself?". Instead of asking a question and waiting half a day for a response, just plug it in and see what works and what doesn't.
I found those who help them selves are more likely to do so
To be just completly honest the most painful thing right now is having to CONSTANTLY reload the client anytime you save an asset in order to see that asset. They desperatly need to have some way to reload assets that are created by the tools, or manually modded outside the tools, without exiting and restarting the client. It is a massive time sink. From a versioning standpoint its really crazy. Also I think this is what causes all the start posit
That the future mods were going to make this game truly epic. Mod this, mod that. So the understanding from a lot of people was that it would be made more easier and more accessible than other games. There are plenty of games with modding editors distributed with their games. If a game studio is going to brag about how easily it is to mod their game, how easily it is to add new items, encourage the players to create new i

Traditionally modders made their own way, wrote their own docs, discovered things our selves and shared those discoveries on the forums. Frogboy is from the generation of modders that worked that way. From a period in time when editors where rare or restricted to basic map editors. Modding was frowned up on and modders battled hard for acceptance. Devs that wanted their games to be modded left the files editable directly or indirectly. Those that didnt left us having to hack the files

Too Disturbing... lol love it :) That is an excellent system you have there, sounds like a drop in mod system that will greatly expand the game and make the variety of mods in a players mod folder offer them a completely different game from other players with different mods. Fascinating stuff. I am just a modder but I love reading stuff like this. Its my inner geek showing :)

Hay Blackrain, long time no ban. To Rahal Modding has been a hobby of mine for over 30 years mate and have run modding websites for over 12 years. Some folk known me for my TES mods (a bad time for me, not many good memories there), others know me from happier times when I made my guides and mods for other games such as All the Mechwarrior 4 games, Supreme Commander 1, Dawn of War, all Egosofts X games, Dark Reign 2, Freelancer, Total Annihilation, Command and Conquer, Medieva

Believe me, you should see the stuff that gets submitted.
Most sites these days including steam, nexus and youtube use a "user moderator" system. You just add a report button and let those viewing the site report anything that should not be there. Other than that, a virus scan of all uploaded files would probably be a good idea if the virus program was

After all, if your going to trust a site with your hard work, you want to know it is safe. Well I do... You gave control over my entire mod collection to a team I had never even heard of without pming me once about it first. That it was a MISTAKE. One I could have fo

Frogboy Nexus was the worst modding experience of my entire life and I have been modding since 1980, so I am very happy your supporting Steam and many other modders I know who had similar experiences at nexus will be happy to hear this news too. Steams good because it supports noobies who normally would not to try mods and if the system you have developed is going to allow mods to be transferred from game to game, then the documentation for it not likely to go too out of date
I agree. I'm not as "vetriolic" as you are towards the game, but, faults or not, the nexus is a big thing. It can make a HUGE difference.
Nexus also has a lot of trollish baggage that kills the fun for those modders who use it. Many modders simply do not trust Nexus because of how Darkone and his staff treated them over the years. So it may be a big thing for players, but its not very good news for modders. Modd

Hello Darkone Lol they do not know you very well do they Darkone, you would think the name was a give away. Still you would make a great character in FE, Darkone of the empire... lol. FE is a game of heros and champions, ironic really that a champion of modders rights comes face to face with a website owner who one stepped on my modders rights. This should be interesting...

I am a big fan of steam for many reasons. I'll try and list them in an easy to read format. 1) Getting games from steam and paying for them is so easy it is addictive. Everything you need to make a decision is on steam. Try checking metacritics from a retail store. In fact trying buying any PC game from a retail store these days. Even 10 years ago you had to ask in GAME to for expansions because they just didnt put them on the shelf at all. 2) Updates, this is real

My understanding is the game was only officially released on 10 October, anything before that would have been a prerelease version. Correct me if I am wrong, I am new to this game after all. Assuming I am not wrong, pre-releases are supposed to be buggy, its the final releases that are supposed to be stable. Sins of Solar Empire Rebellion also allowed pre order customers to play it whilst it was a beta but even that game was very stable for me. In fact all of Stardocks games h

There's also a couple of great mods to check out (Stormworld and Master's Affliction).
Excellent thank you

Hello everybody. I know players usually focus on whats bad about a game, which is why I make a point of making posts when there is something good to say too. Do not get me wrong, if this game was crap I would say so, but it is actually pretty good. So far I have not heard a bad word said about it from people that actually play it on my site. We all like it, last time that happened was with Mount and Blade. I spent yesterday having a quick game to get a feel for Fallen

Question I am new player, but an old stardock customer. I run a site and I write guides on that site for both general gaming and modding and even make video tutorials too. So far most tutorials and guides are from this forum. Would guides posted on my website be welcome here as links ? Eg a post with a brief description of the guide and a link to it ? I am well known for my guides in other communities and could be a real help here if that is allowed. If not I&#

I have been modding games for over 30 years, I have a long long list of games I have modded including The Elder Scrolls series and the worst experience of my modding life was when I uploaded to nexus. Nexus is rotten from the owner down to the players that use that site if your modder. Use it and you will learn this for your self eventually.
