I have a followup question to the OPs. How big is the universe? Wikipedia has this to say: "The universe is very large and possibly infinite in volume; the observable matter is spread over a space at least 93 billion light years across." ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universe ) With the observable space, a lower limit is known. But is it possible f
However, such a large black hole is highly unlikely because it would probably evaporate faster than it could suck in more matter.
Large black holes are very cold, this will make those actually absorb more energy from cosmic microwave background radiation (CMBR) than they would loose from Hawking-radiation. For small black holes the situation is the reverse. This causes supermassive black holes to be semi-permanent even with no mass to consume (evaporation will occu
If light ( photon ) was without any mass, how can you explain that light is absorbed with gravitational monster like black hole, how light trajectory is curved by massive galaxy and create gravitational lens... the no mass is only a theoric thing, related to a photon not moving... try to find a photon who is not moving !!! Once movement stop, all mass is converted to energy and photon stop to exist...
But if photo

I saw on discovery channel about some scientist guy who suggested that the inflation problem of the expanding early universe could be solved by saying that lightspeed is a function rather than a constant. If the lightspeed slows down as the universe gets older, then it might be a bit younger than what is predicted today. I wouldn't call it a crazy idea, after all, even very clever people have assumed certain things to be constants even though later work has proven that those are variable. An

Hmm... "The story of Elemental: War of Magic begins with an immersive single player campaign with you being the only person in your kingdom with the ability to channel magic through mysterious shards of magic that are scattered across the world. These shards, a result of a tremendous cataclysm that occurred a century prior when powerful beings waged war across the world, are the source of much of the world's magic." <a href="http://www.impulsedriven.com/news/

This is what happens when you take a great game and don't add malicious copy protection. It is completely your own fault. Now your pants will be so filled with money that you must hire two guys just to hold them up for you. Nicely done! [e digicons][/e]

It looked okay on my screen [e digicons]:hugme:[/e] But thanks. Also made a small edit, same content, just a little easier to read I hope. Anyway, I am back to play MoM again so I don't have time to post my thoughts on the life time of old games.

I wasn't specific to the game elemental, what caught my attention was the line: but technically, for future reference, what i mean by categories is that any mage unit could fall into these 7 or more. -Fenhiro, reply#2 If Elemental will have mage units or not I can't say, but I hope there will be since it is neat. Perhaps something like in MoM, where they have ranged attacks or certain abilities with limited charges. Even if only the

Allowing players to create new races is great, but as Luckmann said there could be a serious balancing issue if some players try to make overpowered ones. Custom races isn't new to Stardock though. GalCiv2 for example allows the player to make new races and solves the balancing issue by giving each one x number of points to spend on abilities. As long as those abilities are balanced, no overpowered races can be made (until a mod adds unbalanced abilities that is).

The OP:s idea with customizable units is appealing to me. I always enjoyed designing my own, ever since i fell in love with Master of Orion (the original one, not the others). -When looking at the crude schematic I started to wonder if all that matters will be values X,Y and Z. In many games (like Civ 4 and to a small extent MoM) certain troops have anti-unit abilities that comes just from their equipment (pikes vs cavalry etc), which makes diverse armies more important and battles mo
