[quote who="Nenjin" reply="38" id="2848603"] And as a last request....monsters and AI players need to treat each other as threats. They don't. Monsters are there for the AIs to kill for experience, and that's totally unfair to the player. Monsters that could ransack AI empires ignore them. Maybe you think that wouldn't be fun, to have AI empires fall to monsters. But it's not any more fun to be the only thing they pay attention to. If a faction falls to monsters, I consider that ho

crisis over...apparently I need to run it as administrator now. hopefully it won't bite me in the ass later
When I try to play with the beta patch I get weird problems. The intro never plays and the game just hangs on a black screen. I can push enter to get to the main menu like normal, but all the animations, like the background and the avatars in sov creation, are frozen. When I try to start a game it just hangs forever on the loading screen. The game never actually crashes. It just sits there doing nothing at least according to task manager. that'd be nice, though dealing with invulnerable troops is proving to be an interesting problem. I actually lost a city!
I've encountered the same problem, except with melee attacks. Altar attacked me and I was able to kill all but two guys with no problem. These two resist all attacks thrown at them. To all appearances they're normal soldiers with an attack of like 9 and a defense of 4 or something. Nothing extraordinary except for the fact that they can't be hit, even by my rock guy with his attack of 26. I had to autoresolve and they killed all of my axemen (who blocked their attacks most of the time but cou
