Hey Tohklidan, I'm sure you know this but v0.8b needs an update to run with Entrenchment v1.03. Basically you need to add renderShield that is missing. My recent testing also shows that blackholes, gas giants and no atmasphere planets aren't appearing.
yeah thank for the tip with the renderShield parameter. Blackholes and gas giants work fine as I tested them. The no athmosphere planet (normal size) had a wrong entry in the galaxyscenariodef. I fixed it
TohKlidan, I would like to ask your permission to add parts of your mod to a mod I am creating callled Galactic Sins. It will be a massive compilation of planets and stars for Entrenchment 1.02. I will of course give you full credit for any part I use and would ghreatly appreciate it. Heres a link but it does not have much detail as I just made it this morning: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/355252 [
Thanks Neflyte_zero!!! it works now!
Distant Star mod has merged both Solar Sins planets and CB planets together. All Solar Sins Planets in DS have different sizes just like the CB planets also.
Yeah everyone who likes Solar Sins should try Distant Stars! It includes the best of all and some cool new features!
I am wondering if you would give me permission to merge your mod with mine
XselenS you have the permission!
I think the days of vanilla sins are rapidly ending... there is so much more in Entrenchment... and most modders (myself including) will probably be focussing their efforts on Entrenchment and newer expansions going forward I suspect.
Yeah I am also consindering about that, cause some things work better with entrenchm
TohKlidan: Did you try my solution I posted earlier? Kill the two processes in Task Manager and it will work. Batch file is optional but it's easier than killing those processes after each reboot... Maybe Stardock can put the taskkill in the exe -or the demigod stub thingy.
No i haven't tried it yet. I will do to this evening.
I have also a launch problem with Demigod: - I disabled my Logitech Webcam (removed the cable and closed the tray app) - Google toolbar is not installed. - the "push the run button spam trick" seams not to work ( after i reached 69 starts i gave it up) the "demigodstub.exe" has the same effect as the normal exe: for a short time the Hourglass cursor appears but nothing else happens. No error dialog, nothing. But if i verify my installation in Im
Some constructive critisism... I just played your vanilla version and there were so many problem it ruined the experience. First of all some of the pictures and stuff are missing. Second it is plauged by string not found problems. Third the Sol system planets are messed up big time. They are not textured corectly and just dont feel right. For example, Uranaus is suposed to have vertical rings not horrizontal but your Terra i
Sorry for the lecture, but I played MoO2 for 2 years straight at least 5 hours a day, so I felt the urge to comment on that
No problem. thanks for the refresh I played Moo2 also alot but this was some years ago ;)
The question is: Do you prefer realism or balanced gameplay that makes fun? ;) My intention is to get as close as possible to the realism but if reality i too boring or unbalanced I change it and leave the reality behind. For the sol system itself I said that most of the planets are terraformed (before you start the game ;) ). So they maybe look different or have an breatable atmosphere and so on... I also think that StarGen planet
Although, i beleive the star mesh size cant change. (tell me if im wrong).
I canged it and it works. all stars have different sizes in my mod.
good ideas DeadlyShoe! I will try them!
thanks for your post svarogteuse. A lot of good ideas! [e digicons][/e] I also downloaded your excel sheet before and I will definatly add some new planets for the sol system. I like also the idea of the Dense Atmosphere planet type. Also the Cryovolano (this is maybe a good new planet bonus for ice planets, to add not to much new planettypes) Dwarfstars and K class star (orange) are already on my todo list ;) But now i have on
and have been for more than a few days, then you should either buy it or accept that you’re a thief and quit rationalizing it any other way.
I am not a pirate, i am just wanted to say that i am still waiting for it before i can play. and there are maybe more gamers out there wait for the release in germany.
Why just don't buy from Impulse?
Why not? I can wait. I bought Sins also as german retail version in a s
The sales in germany didn't started yet. I have to wait until Mai 14 till i get my retail version from amazon.de. So crossing fingers that your sales will rise!
Take the time you need. I hope there will be a preorder beta as it was with Entrenchment. I was fun to see how the expansion grows up.
Huzzaah! you did it fast!
yeah maybe iam lucky again! thanks for your help.
i checked it starratt and the download works fine!
yes it does! it seems to me that if you add only one new colonizable planet type the engine can handle it, but 2 or more not, cause they were thrown together and handled as one type.
under windows xp you will find it in: C:\Documents and Settings\"Your Username"\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\debug maybe some of these folders are hidden by default.
I looked into Distant Stars and 7Deadly Sins (which contains sins plus as i remember): 7DS contains only the gas giant as new type, the other new planets are linked to existing types. and DS contains more but all researches are linked to "invalid" type and used only for the special abilities each planet has in this mod. cause a grass planet is linked to "terran" and a ocean planet is linked to ice and so on, similiar to 7DS.
Adding one new planet access research (as for gasgiants) to a mod is quite simple: Make a research for each race with researchModifier modifierType "PlanetIsColonizable" linkedPlanetType "GasGiant" and replace these lines in the planets entity isColonizable TRUE planetTypeForResearch "GasGiant" But now i added a s
And for neptune all you need to do is change the "IDSGalaxyScenarioTypePlanetNeptun" and add an (e) at the end of Neptun, then add in an "IDS_PLANETTYPE_NEPTUNE" and it'll be fine.
ok i can do it , but why did you change the string reference ids? BTW thanks for the color code.
And how exactly do i edit the icons? I opened it in gimp but now what? Do i add a nother layer? or do i just paste it? If theres a guide somewhere on the net
I have all the entity, mesh and texture files correct, the planets show up but when i start the game, It just shows an empty grav. well with the astroids and sais string not found. (The string i know how to fix). What happened wrong?
if the grav well is empty and not showing a planet then the mesh reference is wrong (in most cases) did it happen to all planets or only one?
