1. What is the difference between Trinity and Diplomacy? I can't help but notice the "diplomacy" screen when I start up Trinity.
Welcome to SOASE! Trinity is (I believe) the "packaged" version of all three releases, that is; vanilla, entrenchment and diplomacy. You were given excellent advice in the replies, I would add to use the tutorials, & turn off pirates at first (in the game setup). The
As the kind of guy who likes to number crunch and find break-even points and really get under the skin of the game's mechanics, these are four technologies that really irk me. They're not particularly useful, they're overshadowed by other much simpler and cost-effective alternatives, and in general can be ignored.
Very w
TEC have a max tier technology that causes rebel (pirate essentially) forces to attack enemy planets under influence of your culture.
Hmmmm...I am not sure what that means. Do you mean that they will warp in after the last tech has been researched? That IS what is happening, I wasn't aware that would happen in Entrenchment. However ,as you mentioned in your reply that doesn't explain why the pirates would start being active and asking for bounty or tellin
Played a huge random 1 star map FFA against 5 Unfair AI's. No Pirates activated. After a couple hours one of my flanking AI surrenders (locked teams/no allies) leaving his 5 built up worlds for me to siege and plunder. As I start to mop up his worlds Pirates warp in from some unseen star (remember it's a one star world) and try to take me on, sending small fleets against my huge ones. You can see the fleets coming from off the scree
Centurion- In the spirit of your original post....They (we) are out there but don't always play online and if we do you may or may not know it. As the last 10 or so posts have indicated if the distaff side of Sins get online they are likely to take each other out quickly...meeooow. I think "Silent & Deadly" may be more apropo to others strategy...see ya online sometime ;)
Thank you for your excellent suggestion(s). I have saved the fix for the future if needed. I took out my saved maps (galaxy folder emptied), then used notepad++ to modify the settings.ini file to force windowed mode, low settings and no opening movies but that didn't work either. Finally I downloaded a previous update v1.05, ran it and then updated to 1.15, checked the settings ini and it worked!! I am back to playing! Now if I could only get Ironclad Online to connect LOL....
SailorSaturn -- you need to remove all custom maps from your Sins Galaxy folder.
ALL HAIL Centurion!! That fixed it (doh! I shoulda known bettah...*going to edit maps to v3*) Thank you SS
I Patched my vanilla SOASE to v1.15 and now my game won't run. Gee thanx for the update Impulse. NOT! All I get now is a black screen, no sound and a frozen CPU. It was bad enough the game never ran from the original CD & I had to download it, had to download & use Imp
My game worked fine prior to the recent 1.15 update, running the 1.13 version of Sins vanilla (no Entrenchment). I just patched it through Impulse to v1.15 and it will not load the game. All I get is a black screen, no sound and the computer is locked up. I have the game downloaded through impulse ( as the original CD never ran) and don't want to download-install and re-install if that isn't the problem. <sp
