I'm getting the same thing. I'd add that it worked the first time I loaded it but I used that to set it to windowed mode. Once I quit and tried it again it crashed at the splash screen each time. I've tried it 5-6 times now with the same results. Debug.err: http://pastebin.com/mdcfb61e
While we have strayed, I have to continue it and add that the other reason YYYYMMDD makes sense other than sorting is that it continues the logical order when the time is added, going from largest to smallest.
Sounds like fun. I'm certainly going to be at PAX though I'll most likely be busy working in the tabletop section...
