Major Concerns: There isn't any sense of scale or connection with the gameworld and the entire world feels lifeless and dull. A large part of this is that there isn't any continuity between the world itself and the units/features. It takes multiple turns for a unit to walk across a span of space. But then a single city eventually covers an entire continent...and while it might take 20 turns for my unit to walk along the side of the city...a unit can walk through one

I have the very same problem.
Quoted for truth...its normally used when people are hearing something that they don't like :D
I have all the hope in the world that they can pull this out...honestly I would love a commercial fantasy strategy game with tactical battles...thats why I'm willing to touch base in these forums and give some input. Seems like they have a long ways to go though.

(Look it up...) This is a bit off topic, but I can't help but think Torynn doesn't know his audience here. I'd bet that just about everyone on this forum knows what Dragon's Lair is.[/quote] No you're probably right Garion...some of the people who are interested enough tak
You're attempting to argue over semantics and it's not worth my time. As echoed by others, my point is clear.
I think the art was a good idea in concept but hasn't panned out. Yes graphics don't equal good gameplay but the current set of graphics is too cartoony to allow immersion... I look at the trees and hills of the game and think it looks like 90's freeware.
I'm hoping that we're looking at a very early version of the art because it currently looks laughable. I'm honestly sorry to say that because I was hoping for the best and really looking forward to this game...but honestly the graphics pull me out of the immersion and environment and are distractingly cartoony. They honestly look like some out of a freeware game made in the 80's or very early 90's. In fact the graphics remind me of 'Dragons Lair' and Dirk the Daring, which
Honestly...the combat looks awful...a tiny little map and sprite looking figures? I played MOM back in the day and enjoyed the game for what it was...but that doesn't mean that I want to play it again with slightly updated graphics. If I wanted that, I would download DOSBox and go play MOM. Speaking as someone who played MOM...the tactical battles were limited and would be considered 'crappy' by gamers used to tactical battles of today. Look at that map...the graph
