I'm sorry, but there must have been a mistake. My post was deleted about 20 minutes ago. I hope this was an accident, and not someone simply trying to hide negative criticism. Anyway, I'll try to post it again. If this gets deleted again or I get banned, I guess we'll know what's up. :) -------------------------- <p

This was stated in a LOT more places than just Gamespy and IGN, I just used the two as an example. Go take your pick among just about any gaming media source around 2008, and you'll get the same information.
I think the anger and dissapointment of a lot of people is pretty warranted. Perhaps many of you were not around when Elemental was first announced, but the complete failure to deliver what was promised is pretty staggering. <span style="font-family: verdana, gene
The characters, including John Connor were designed to be dull and lifeless throughout the movie. Let me emphasize: THIS WAS BY DESIGN, not a mistake by the director. 15 straight years of war had made all the human beings lose their humanity. Marcus Wright did not grow up in a post-apocalpytic world and even he, a criminal in his time, was more human and had more "heart" than anyone living in the current world. Hmmm....
So I saw Terminator Salvation over the weekend. I have read many early reviews about the movie and the main critcism goes something like this: "The characters are too dull and lack emotion" (except for Marcus Wright). Spoilers Below When I left the movie theater I thought the same thing. I thought that John Connor was a let-down. I thought the world was too bland. I thought it was really stra
Alright, from recomendations above I read a couple books: The Curse of Chalion : Hated it. Is this even fantasy? Chivalry yes, but not swords and sorcery fantasy. Seriously, how is a story about a war hero going into retirement by becoming a tutor for a whiny princess supposed to be interesting? Through the entire book I don't remember a single combat scene or, for that matter, any action at all. Pure endless dribble. Your gran

Rebellion is an awesome game and a hidden gem among Star Wars games. I bought it on ebay a couple years ago and it holds a special place in my closet. The game has a pretty high learning curve, but once you get past that, it's a total blast. I actually liked this game much more than Masters of Orion because it had a mysterious feeling of not knowing when you would get attacked or when a spy or assassin would show up. You had to play this with another real person thou
Fantastic books, fantastic author. You ought to give Tad Williams a try, he has an awesome three book (the third is split into two parts) series called Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn out. Not since the LOTR trilogy have I been so enthralled by a series. As far as Brooks goes, you should try his newer couple books in the Genesis of Shannara series. They live up to his fantastic writing in the other books. And Walker Boh is th
I have been a fan of Terry Brooks' Shannara series for a long time. I just started reading the Genesis of Shannara trilogy a couple weeks ago and have absolutely loved it. My favorite series of his books have always been the "Scions", but Genesis may be a contender. I've tried other modern fantasy authors like R.A Salvatore, but they all left a bad taste in my mouth and just felt a little dry to me. I've sampled some of his other works
Quoting BoogieBac, I beleive most dragons are CONSIDERABLY more powerful than your starting channeler. I saw this post, but you forgot to put the question before the answer. Someone asked if the Channeler would be stronger than dragons AT THE BEGINNING of the game. The real question, is whether your Channeler can beco
These things would be sweet for the campaign, but if there was a way to incorporate them into the regular game, even better. Perhaps along the lines of the watered-down diplomacy in Sins, or maybe you could visit a sage to get a quest.
Yeah, I'm referring to this happening more in "sandbox" mode. I'm sure it could be done with scripting in the campaign, but would be truly amazing, if they could make these kind
By the way, does anyone know if Windows 7 going to come standard as 64-bit? Will it even come in 32-bit?
Frogboy stated: The key to that is to have distinct paths to victory that are truly unique (far more so than in GalCiv) that are action-driven (and by action I mean the player is doing "stuff" on the map and not just making treaties or whatever). So does this mean, that the player will be able to take his wizard or another hero and undertake quests in the world? How detailed will these quests be? This is one of the main thi
I think it has been stated in several places there will be multiplayer modes, including your typical "skirmish" or "sandbox" mode. Not putting multiplayer in this game would be sheer insanity (although, people said that about GalCiv2 also [e digicons]:(O[/e] )
I definately agree with this, and hope that this is the design direction of the game. However, even if they decide that anybody can create any unit or research any magic at any time, it will be much harder to have duplicate factions when you take into account the streaming, user-created, content. I would imagine that when the modding community gets rolling, within months of release, games will have literally hundreds, if not thousands of race choices, spell paths, and unit typ
I'd imagine a lot of it has to be before the game ends -- it'd be hard to add a new custom race in the middle of the game! Unless it happens as a random event...
That sort of contradicts what's on the dev-post today : The idea is that the worlds you get will slowly evolve based on what players make. New races, new types of buildings, new technologies, new spells, new units, etc. will
I really like having an in-game representation of my leader, especially if he is completely customizable. I'm not so sure I like having the game end if he is defeated though. I've heard a lot of people say this game is supposed to make you feel like you are in a world like "Middle Earth". If so, why not use the same idea here with your leader? Sauron was defeated, but his "essence" was still alive through the One Ring and he was still able to control his minions. &nb
Looks like their using TinyMCE for their WYSIWYG. It has trouble loading sometimes with Google Chrome and Safari. You need to make sure you see the buttons above the text box before trying to post a message.
Ah. Okay, that makes way more sense now, I should have seen that before. That, indeed, makes it very much like Spore. Will a player's game get streaming content automatically, if he so chooses, or is it a choice made before a game even begins?
Here's something else to add to my initial questions: A persistent world (PW) is a virtual world that continues to exist even after a user exits the world and that user-made changes to its state are, to some extent, permanent. -Wikipedia
I love the art style. I'm sick of fantasy games using dark, sad overtones. It's about time we get a fantasy game in the vein of old-school Fairy Tale art style. It's refreshing and uplifting to me.
I agree with Tiavals. Most randomly generated maps (in other games) seem im-plausible. Mountains, and forests are in weird places, and landmasses look strange. The maps on the Media page of Elemental look totally believable and very Tolkienesque. I also noticed the cool sounding names on the maps, will the random map generator include random names for forests, mountain ranges, etc? Will there be random "Lore" included with the map? I mean,
