I like the idea. And for balance sake should include a cap to the number of heroes that a player can have. On a long campaign, we may end up with too many soldiers raised to Hero status.

I think all would be in agreement if I was to say that games from Stardock is truly 'By gamers for gamers'.
I agree with Akashir with the graphics idea. It doesn't have to be jaw dropping (Crysis) but as long it's nice and pleasant to look at should be fine by today's standard.
The 4 elementals existing in some sort of altered dimension which can only be accessed by chosen ones; ie: the player. This does present an interesting setting. Each element's influence powerfull in their respective dimension/planes. Scattered around these planes are the respective elemental nodes which prolly yields more magic compared to the normal world. <span style="font-s
[quote who="Jalicos" reply="10" id="1926316"] Just think how cool it would be to spot a storm front approaching the mountains and knowing that if you can lure your enemy onto the windward side in a few turns, there's a good chance they'll get stranded in a blizzard while your troops take cover in the forest below. Dynamic weather could be a good way to add an element of timing to the players' battle plans, much like terrain bonuses heighten the importance of location. H
Auras normally has a radius limitation. In a tactical battlefield, an aura can span several spaces and any unit within the space will gain the bonus. As a hero raises in ranks/level, the radius of the aura could expand and/or increase the bonus. This is could be a good play balance <span style="font-
Having 3D unit does look cool but I would prefer if the game is optimised to cater those with mid range gaming rig.
Use isometric view - something similar to MOM or Diablo 2. Personaly the ones in AOW sucks. Keep camera views simple - there's only so many times, we would want to rotate the camera but if possible only one view, ie: MOM <span style="font-famil
I like Sammual's idea 2 and 3.
Have a preset weather system; summer, spring, fall and winter. Also look into possible day and night settings (each turn alternates between day and night) Random weather event; blizzard occuring i
