Raven X, that's just what requires unwrapping. The model needs an UV-map that tells what parts of the flat texture represent parts in the actual model. There are different ways to unwrap a model, but usually there needs to be some pointers for the program what parts should be one piece on the texture etc. Blender can do much of that automatically though. What file format you'd use for the 3d-models, btw?
Ahh, thanks for the e

I find that rolling a joint or packing a bong is a great way to pass the time between turns :P er...um...nm...don't do drugs mmmk. ;)

Why doesn't someone just fire up Steam and check? Wait a sec...I'll check :P.....brb. *grumblelazyslackersgrumble*
Sweeeet :) I see 5 stamps as pieces of that tile. What stamps did you use and what do they do? Thanks for the "sneak peak" chief!! :)
Heres the smooth version of my model, for some reason I prefer working on it on the non-smooth version.
If you like working in smooth texture that's great for working, not for a finished model though. When we're talking about "texture" that's what I'm talking about. You don't need to make sub parts of the scales. Just change the "smooth texture" to something a little more rough and it would be perfect :) [quote who="C
Yes. no need for me to google it, it's why I mentioned her in the first place. Simply being in the government in no way makes ones views more valid. Especially when its on a subject like this one.
That's true and I completely agree. Just because someone is in a position of power it doesn't automatically make everything they say true nor correct. On the other hand though, as with many things in life, I th

If you can prove the repairman did the damage by accident I'd call his employer and get them to pay for the new PS. If it wasn't the guys fault however, then yeah it sounds like you just got a bad PS. Getting bad or near broke parts straight from the manufacturer seems to be a bigger problem in the PC market than it does with other consumer goods for some reason. I've always attributed this to the delicate nature of the parts being shipped and the often rough handling of these th
What's best for Stardock is for them to give me Elemental Now!!! Oh, and throw in a free copy of that book while you're at it. ;) hehe
It's a f'kin video game...gees. Hell, I'm American and I might play as a Taliban just to laugh at people who get pissed off over it. Cry me a freakin river...boof'kinwhoooo. Was I sad when 9/11 happened? Sure. Am I pissed off we haven't killed Binladen yet? Sure. Does that need to affect a freaking video game and how it's played? Nope.
But just because Hellyer is (or was) a high ranking official means what exactly? Sara Palin also was a high ranking official. Though I freely admit to know nothing of her position on aliens, though I imagine it would be highly entertaining to hear her express it
Sara Palin definitely DOES NOT believe in aliens of any extraterrestrial form. She's literally gone on the record as saying "Dinosaur bones wer
Unwrapping is the process of assigning the individual polygons in the model space on the texture map.
Ahh, good to know, thank you. See, told you all I don't know jack about modelling..lol.

Great update. I was just saying it's been a while since we had a Dev journel..lol. These next two weeks are going to be soooooooo slow.
Ravenx, I think the scaly skin would have to be done fully with skins, except maybe the biggest scales and crests. Same goes for other parts too.. I don't think making eyes on the model itself is practical. On the topic of skins.. should the models be unwrapped etc? Hopefully I'll try to continue modeling/practicing it, but.. Starcraft 2 is taking my time And ye, I know there are different kinds of Draconians, used to read Dragonlance

So, I don't want to come off as impatient or bossy or anything, but it seems like since Brad got back from his trip he went into his office to hibernate and hasn't come back out since. Come on Brad, don't tell us Morgan Webb got you all tired out or something :P . Are there going to be any more Dev Journals? Maybe a Modding Guide where you pick one of the scripts we'll be changing the most and give us a "line by line" break down of what all the values mean? Pics of the new UI now th
Paragraph four is kinda confusing me by explaining mechanics I haven't seen or heard of previously. For example, the bit about the Knights being available without Iron and the Scholar being attracted by reputation and research might. It'd be great if those exist but, somehow, I doubt it. Looking forward to being more pleasantly surprised then I already am...
I'm actually hoping we can't just crank stuff out without
Maybe I can make some form of mini cannon wielding zeppelin to hunt them in the trees. Or you could get a go go Gadget propeller hat and rise up to shoot the poor little blighters yourself. Recoil might be a slight issue but not if the zeppelin is large enough. Kill those littl
I mean, doing low poly is the problem. Wings, for example, might need to be flat with fancy textures. And I'd really fancy those scaly crests on head, but I can't figure out how to do it without excessive polys. Textures are the more demanding part really. Not to mention animations. Would love to know what kind of textures/animations Elemental models use
Elemental has a modern engine so if you need to go hig
