Sounds like a pretty good idea and not all that hard to implament honestly. Randomized Quests with lots of variables only requires the time to come up with and write all the dialog and program in the event triggers.

I'm gonna guess the battle field and unit placement will be handled in grids and units formations will be standardized. I think though it would be far cooler if the battles were more free form like the Total War series does them. This would be amazing. How you position your troops and spread your lines could make a huge difference on the outcome of battle. Troops designed to stand and defend could be spread in a line that is two or three flanks deep depending on how many men you have availabl

Fire Balls should litteraly catch the battle field on fire (depending on terrain of course) while Ice Bolts should slow or completely immobilize the enemy hit with it ecasing them in ice depending on resistances. It would be nice to lay down a field of grease and watch the enemy units slip and slide and get all greased up and then light them on fire with a fire ball or fire arrows from a archer unit attack. A Earthquake spell should definately leave a lasting affect on the field of battl

Navies definately sound like a great idea. Good ideas too. As long as there are boats to get armies from one place to another though I'm happy. Perhaps even "Flying Ships" ala Final Fantasy would be nice. You know the old school ships with hellicopter props on them to make them fly. Or maybe ships with blimps attached to them so they float. The upgraded versions could be levitated by magic of course. Also on that note, perhaps flying cittadels as well :D

Indeed but they don't have to use "Krynn aka Dragonlance" Draconians. Draconians were in MoM and it wasn't affilitiated with the Dragonlance books in any way that I know of. I don't know if anyone has a specific copyright on Draconians as a mythical race. The original MoM also had the Klackons in it as well which apeared in Master of Orion though yes they were both owned by Microprose. To me that's kinda like saying no other games but Lord of the Rings games can use elves because Tolk
You want in on the beta? Easy: pre-order and you're in, simple as that. Standard Stardock policy. It's only the alpha that has restricted entry. (which is a rarity with Stardock, and afaik they regrettably aren't taking new entrants)
Indeed I realize that now, thank you my friend. I'm heading down to Gamestop tomorrow to get my pre-order. :)

Please tell me Draconians will be in EWoM!!! I'd love to make a map of Krynn and re-create the "War of the Lance" from Dragonlance. In fact I'd start making the Mod for it tomorrow if I could [e digicons]B)[/e] . This would be a dream come true. This may help some of you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draconian_(Dragonlance ) </

Man I miss Masters of Magic. I loved that game. Some of my fondest memories are of that game. I loved having heroes that worked for my main wizard. I had this one Death Knight who was nigh unstoppable. With the right magic items and a few levels he could whipe out whole armies by himself. Was he over powered as hell? You Bet!!! Still there were those times I would try to capture a resource full of monsters, my army would get whiped out, and then I'd send in my Death Knight on his own and he w
