What nomotog said. I did think of orbiting planets, but rejected it due to the square grid. Didn't know about the hex map. Now it's possible and highly advise-able as well. And in light of the hex grid, I doubt we'll see separate star system levels. There's no point really. What we could see is buildable as asteroids and moo

This is a really simple one. The long rant is below. PUT MORE STUFF IN SPACE. In GC2 the map was basically empty and immutable - there were a total of 5 objects: Suns, planets, asteroids, anomalies and ships, 3 of which were completely static(excluding the gimicky death star). And yet on the scales GC purports to operate, there is SO MUCH STUFF in space. Nebulas to hide starbases, or from which pirates can peste

So what, we'll start having specialist economies vs cott... oh sorry planetary economies. I do love the idea though. There's also a ton of other things I'd like to see. I wonder how far along the development the game is.

Why is there a sensor range cap? Is there a way to remove it or work around it? I just tried to create myself a sensor satellite and it appears I have failed miserably due to no fault of my own.

You see. Here's one game that would have SERIOUSLY benefited from a 64 bit release(or at least a more optimized 32 bit one). Go figure...

I actually have a little save game structures description project that's been going on and off for a couple of years now. It's not very much, but I've pretty much got civs and planets down pat. Useful for experiments(and cheating). One time I tried playing dreadlord style - just 1 planet with uber-stats against the whole galaxy. It was fun :) But yea, save games save a lot of useless info in there. I mean, it saves the entire damn tech and improvement tree,

So I've never seen this explained anywhere. The most confusing part is specifically the celestial bodies settings. In precise terms the question is: What is a subset of what? I think "Number of Planets" is governed by "Number of Stars". It would also be logical for "Habitable Planets" to be a subset of "Number of Planets". However beyond that I'm clueless. Is the number of extreme planets based on total planet count or hab

But there are only tech requirement fields in GC2Types. For this to work it either needs to require another component, or more than one tech. And besides its easier to get a definitive answer here than go around poking stuff that may not, but is most likely hardcoded anyway.

Is it possible to make a ship component require another component to be placed first? Or something to that effect. For example can I mix and match properties - like making making an engine give HP bonuses or a weapon giving speed bonuses? That would also serve the purpose even if it is a crude workaround for component prereq's. I have certain ideas about making a mod that would need that sort functionality.

New development: I managed to enable it. The thing is, I didn't know I could enable it because the dialog where you choose mods has a blank space where the mod should be: Any ideas why?

1. Are these options linked at all? 2. If they are(I sincerely hope so), what is the order in which the galaxy is created? Like for example - stars are common, among these stars, planets are abundant, among that set of planets habitable ones are occasional and among the habitables the extremes are uncommon. Or is there another order?

I have a situation here kinda.... Which left me all staring at the monitor when it happened. So - I play Terrans on a small map with Altarians, Korx and Drengi. Have won the initial colony race, gone all nice and cultural, forged an alliance with the altarians, and am pretty close with the Korx and somewhat with the Drengi too. A pretty nice picture there. Until all hell broke loose! Gradually but, still at the end it just went over the top. All started with the altari

Interesting - yea... Surprising - not really. The most interesting thing for me was this:
Most popular wishes from Object Desktop users were: a. Registry cleaner b. Anti-spyware c. Defragging d. CD/DVD burning
Guess that explains all the tons of mostly useless such software out there. Another note - It appears that I am a part of the majority in like 90% of the cases. So with me considering myself a typical and knowledgeable u
