Yep, it still happens... don't get it. The child doesn't spawn either. I tried it by forst taking out all enemies nearby before approaching the Inn and then by going to the Inn first then moving to the estate. Neither way worked as both had the same result - no child, no reward or completion.
Okay, my chanpion may not have been teamed up but I can't remember. Sp I'll re-install the pathc and try a new game. If it still happens then I'll post and send the savegame into drop.io. Thanks.
No, it was m only quest and not two of them at once. Also, you mentioned about the child being shown in my team group. I do not see the child in the group or at the Inn to pick him up. Prior to updating the game from v1.06, I didn't recall seeing the child in the group either but was able to go to the estate and claim the reward. So I'm not sure about the changes in the latest updates the affect this or what is going on?
Strangely, I am unable to complete one of the first quests - escorting the son/daughter to father's estate. Once i get there, I get no reqard or anything. Nothing happens at all and the quest remains active in my kingdom report? Any suggestions?

Using the update v1.09 and starting a new game, i am unable to complete the escort of son or daughter to father's estate quest. After reaching the estate, nothing happens and have tried going back to the Inn where i received the quest and back to the estate but nothing happens and the quest remains active in the kingdom report. Is there anything I am doing wrong or is this a problem with the latest update? Please advise. Thank you.
