I would love to see a rebirth of War of Magic. While saying that its reception was bad is an understatement, I still think that a few more months of developement, more stability, more focus, and an improved AI would have produced one of the greatest 4X of all times. WoM had this amasing feel of a barren and bleak world being "healed" by the player. It had this stylized look that gave the feel of playing inside the illustrations of a fantasy book. The cities were visually amazing. While

Same problem here. I tougtht that was because of the increased since 0.76 minimal distance between cities.
About complaint 5 : terrain textures would look too detailed, and the contrast with the "illustrated" look of the game would be too big. Keep it cohesive. I think that the illustrated look is a good thing, this way, the game won't look dated in a couple of years. And I really like it, it has a strong identity and is visually pleasent. For the "umph", maybe some more variation (like diffrent trees, etc) would do the thing, but the performance is more important, nobody wants a lag show.
As in the title, if the AI has a town at 8 tiles from the spot (statue) in the ruins of Imperium, like in my current game, it's impossible to build a town here and finish the quest. By the way, Fallen Enchantress is, in its beta state, already great. The final result will be fantastic ! Thanks Frogboy and Stardock for not letting, after WoM, the idea of Elemental fade away !
