@scorpNZ re Backup image. Took a quick look. Interesting. Think I understand? This means I could get a very large size external drive and 'backup my c and d drives onto the external. And then, later, use the external to 'restore' or overwrite whats on my c and d drives? Eliminate reinstalling win 7, all the drivers, all the programs, steam, word, yada? DO I understand correctly?

Thank you all. SUCCESS. PUP malware removed. edit: :) :) :)
Hi Seth, Toda raba. I wondered about the UAC. Ran herd protect, found 16 items. SOme are part of other malremovals, some were deleted. It a great and fast app. :)
I've run all the programs, its still there. failed to remove it. When I use the toolbar on IObits, the remove button is greyed out. Ditching Firefox. The dial thingy does not show up on other browsers, so een though its on my PC, I won't get redirects and blinking ads all over.
@teddybearcholla Thanks.. already did hitmanpro, is part of the majorgeeks recipe i'm working thru :) @Redneckdude :) thank you... change user account ctrl settings was part i missed! @Uval IObit it is. @all I ran malwarebytes three tiems, each time it found more of the pup..yada items. RanIOBits and it was way faster than malwarebytes... :)
i reinstalled firefox and my search dial was there again. I'm ditching firefox, alas,
Agree, auto resolve is bugged. If you are going to fight dragons. Build/train troops in a citadel that has the magic improvement that has troops resist fire damage (or is it fire damage troops dish out? I forget.) Anyway - cast the fire protect spell on troops first thing.
Oh, I went to majorgeeks and downloaed their guide. at one point it says: " For Windows 7 users - to turn off UAC (UAC = User Account Control) Click Start , and then click Control Panel . Click User Accounts and Family Safety In the User Accounts and Family Safety window click Change User Account Control Settings Then mo

Can we trust anyone? I favor the EU above any others. The UN? Well, eventually, it will be the world government. But lest hope Shira types (Chrstian-shira, islam-shira, Jewish-shira) are reduced to a small minority before that happens. Until then, I trust the EU more than any other body with trying to keep a free/open web.
Thank s RND, it was in firefox. I don't use IE. I'm on Palemoon right now (the other browser I use). I tried turning it off in the manage addons, and it pops right back up. I'm running updated Malwarebites now. Found 16 'suspicious' entry s almost immediately. Hope this fixes it. Really prefer Firefox browser. Has Web of Truth - which i rely upon a lot. Up to 18. Thank you again. Will report back in in a a bit.&n
Current status: SUCCESS. "my search dial .com" successfully removed from firefox / PC. I thought I was downloading Nvidia program, got My search dial 'tool bar.' Bad rep from WOT, and nasty redirects. Really don't want it. Cant get rid of it. I used revo installer, OK. Also revo uninstalled Firefox (browser it was on). Including cookies and registry items. Reinstalled firefox from firefox site. My search bar is th
Perhaps the root of the problem is the nature of the corporate enterprise. Seems to me the requirement to maximize dividends each quarter to the exclusion of all other factors is actually enshrining one of the most negative aspects of human nature. Selfishness, and disregard for the consequences of 'externaiities' on others is great for making lots of profits, but terrible for the neighbors. Whats legal, even whats required by some laws, does not make it moral. Indee

Actually, swamp terrain can be very good defense terrain.
Next thing you know, we will all be forced to have a chip inserted into our bodies, for ID , safety, and security reasons, of course. And the chip includes a tasering application that can be remotely activated... for the public good, of course.
Shalom in the fullest sense, my dear.
