1) Performance 2) AI 3) make city building/management more interesting (i also never run out of resources... materials for example, always got thousands and thousands of it, it is impossible to run out of it)

4 games on extreme so far here, no difference, it's easy like any other difficulty setting. - sov's self suicide - enemy factions don't have any defence - can declare war on all factions i currently have contact with, and i still win with ease - i only need one stack to wipe out the enitre world - i can keep lots of citys/settlements undefended, if creatures attack a city then i actually don't even care - i stop building up my citys quite soon in the game, the
Same here, usualy arround 300+ turns, win vista 32bit, nvidia GTX 275, 4gb ram. Doesn't surprise me thought, for example: there are shitloads of creatures on a large map in late game (extreme), those take for sure already a massive amount of ram or processing power. Respawn rate of creatures is also crazy.
One of my friends recently sent me a link to 1up's review of elemental and I thought I should share it on here, http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3181116 The comments also say that Stardock is offering refunds for people, can someone comment on whether or not this is true? It would be nice to get back the money I spent on this game. It just feels like a game that is released while it could obviously u
2. Is there a map overview of the entire world besides the cloth map and mini map? Something that fits in the screen so I can understand the current situation at a glance? 3. Is there a win overview? I have no idea who's winning or how.
2. No, and i agree that the current minimap is not very useful, i never use it, i liked the one in an older screenshot in the bottom right by far more. 3. Sadly, there isn't one (i
My current game offers me an unmatched experience of the game so far. Factions are nicely spread, everyone is expanding as much as they can, and the AI actually respects your diplomatic capital and military force. They offer trade, treaties and alliances.
They offer trades or treaties ? Never worked for me, if they offer a trade or an treatie it's just empty. I mean i get to the usual diplomatic screen and then I! i have to make
Awesome OP. So much work went into that post. Stardock will hopefully pay attention...
They will, this is Stardock we are talking about and not EA or Blizzard.
I never had any issues with the tiny buttons. But since i'm an developer as well i understand very well where he is coming from. So yeah, pretty much agree with everything but these: - Food and Elementium, i have to disagree there. It's by far better to see all your resources in one spot, i would hate it to look left, right, top, bottom to figure out how much resources my empire has. Even if food and elementium function is different, it's good to have them all
Confirmed (german keyboard)
The AI developer went on vacation, which, I'm sure he needed but the timing is a little odd considering this game needs daily patches and a lot of AI work.
Yep, i was thinking exactly the same.
True, but calling it an campaign in the first place was not a good decision, imo.
Correct, only god knows why they called it an Campaign, which is misleading. The campaign is basically just an tutorial for the basics.
I never reloaded, i play as it comes, i always did same with civ. Reloading is cheating. However, i played a few large maps extreme (with 9 ai factions, world extreme, all factions set to extreme). And it's no challenge at all. Mostly it's because ai sovs self suicide most of the time, it's quite annoying. This mechanic needs to be removed as it does not really add anything to the game or difficulty.
if you are a great artist, try to find a good programmer. If you want to also code your own video game then take a couple of years first in learning/practicing. Also start small, very small, code simple games for the start. Do not start with complex games, you will fail.
Why does everyone think we all are hardcores if we beat the AI at very high or max difficulty setting ? I have played 5 games only so far. I repeat 5.... first normal, second challenging, third hard, fourth extreme, fifth extreme (to make sure i wasn't just lucky in the fourth game) I do not know the game in and out, i'm still clueless about alot of things and yet i can manage it easily to beat the AI on "Extreme" setting (extreme world difficulty a
Hello, 5. Is the AI difficult and will I find challenges in against the AI in single player? Can I lose (not due to a glitch or bad luck... but because I was out played or out leveled or was a terrible diplomat)?
Simply put, no. I play on extreme (1 below the highest setting ridiculous) so far and it feels like the difficulty level "Settler" of CIV IV. And i really mean this honestly. There is no thr
Quoting Himmelweiss, reply 37 A break once in a while is important. But who is taking care of the AI then ? The AI is taking care of itself.
I don't think so.
please remove the empire-death-on-sov-death system, it really kills alot of fun.
A break once in a while is important. But who is taking care of the AI then ? :O
You all forgot the REAL reason why the game does not have hexes: It is far easier to program and mod with a square tile system compared to hexes. Since I assume that we all like a highly and easily modable game, it may be not the perfect decision to stick with squares, but it is the right decision.
Eh coding a hexfield is as simple as an squarefield. I can code you an 3d, isometric or 2d hexfield tilesystem in just
same, and i'm having an nvidia GTX 275
Hexes are awesome, boardgames with hexes even more. - Classic Battletech - HeroScape - Twilight Imperium III And 2 of them are not really hardcore games. Classic PC games with hexes - Panzer General Hex for combat where range etc. matters is always better, always...
same, didn't find any info about this so far
Another good post/read. Thanks!
