Plus I live in the Pacific NW and it's a little disconcerting assaulting somewhere that you lived.
That's funny...the reverse is true for me. I grew up in Ohio, and I enjoy destroying the farmland maps more than any other ones....There's just something about dropping tactical nuclear weapons on red barns, tractors, and grain elevators that is deeply satisfying to me.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned World in Conflict . This is easily my favorite (and most beautiful) RTS I have ever played. Some people call it a Real-Time Tactical game because there are no economics or base-building. Since Massive Entertainment, along with the WiC IP was bought up by Ubisoft, all the SecuRom has been removed and there isn't even a disk-check anymore. If you get the game (available on Steam), be sure to get the "Soviet A

Give yourself a few weeks to get used to it. Whenever a company changes the UI of a popular product, there is always community blacklash. And then it dies down after people realize that...the UI changes were permanent. If you want my opinion, I think the white is just fine. The black was fine too. Neither color makes this service any more easier or difficult to use for me, which is all that is important to me.

If we are able to lump Real-Time Strategy with Real-Time Tactical games, then here's my list: 1. World in Conflict 2. Demigod 3. Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War (Dark Crusade) 4. Sins of a Solar Empire w/ Entrenchment 5. Company of Heroes

It should fit everything you need if the 1200 is too pricey. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129058&Tpk=antec%20902
Let's talk about your power supply. 700W is insane. You're running a computer, not the last line of defense between earth and the alien hoards. You should be buying a 400W-500W unit. But I don't expect you to take my word for it. Check out this review of the Radeon 4850. The page I linked to lists power consumption. At load, the test system with a Radeon 4850 used 236 watts. Note that this is not the video card - it is the entire test s

I'd like to give a nod to the Antec 900 II (or 902), and would advise against the origional 900. I own both of these cases and I can say that version 2.0 is a fantastic value for the money. They added dust filters, painted the interior black, increased the build quality/styling overall, added external fan controls, and gave the whole outside of the case an interesting sandpaper-ish texture. I have experience with the Soprano, Sonata, and the 300. In short, I feel the Soprano has too m

I was really looking forward to playing this game, but since I heard that their software uses GameGuard , I'm afraid I'll have to pass--not because I want to cheat, but because I'm not willing to part with some of the popular programs that GameGuard renders unusable, such as Daemon Tools, Filezilla, Google Chrome, VMWare, and F-Secure. It even somehow breaks Steam right now, according to the Wikipedia entry.

I wonder why more people aren't having this problem if it really is a driver issue. I did a search for this topic on this forum and not a single post came up mentioning it. That being the case, I doubt AMD's going to scramble to the rescue to fix my problem. There has got to be a solution for this. Just some tweak in my driver somewhere, surely. I'll try AMD/ATI's support forums. Thanks for the responses everyone.

Indeed. Drivers are updated. This problem occurs when I have Non-Maskable, 2 Samples or 4 Samples AA enabled. Same result if I force AA through Catalyst Control Panel. This problem occurs in a few other games as well, which might be interesting information. Screenshots are below. Sorry about the file size. When I enable anti-aliasing either in-game or through my ATI control panel, not only are the game's graphics anti-aliased, but so is all the text in the game as well, leading to fuzzy, blurry, and unreadable text. Has anybody seen this before? Q6600 4GB G.Skill MSI 4850 Vista x64 Thanks!
