Oh, so this is actually intentional? I wasn't sure, but I thought that moving counted as "doing something" as well, and that the shields that showed above my units where just bugged icons. Thanks for clearing this up!

You beat me to it - nice post!
I get the same black screen after alt-tabbing. I haven't had any problems with relaunching the game (neither directly afterwards or after reboot) so far. GIEF BETAZ NOW PLX!
BRING IT ON I SAY!
Apparently, not so easy a question to answer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autumn But I'll take the word of a Stardocker as good value.
speaking of animations they whould watch all four seasons of Avatar: the last airbender (if they haven't already)
4 Seasons? :O I thought there were only three? Doesn't it end with Sozin's Comet? Great series anyway, highly recommendable. Too bad they got Shyalaman to make the movie >.
Where I come from, Summer ends. September 1st. So GIEF EPIC BETAZ!
Thanks! I really think that we could work with this idea, it's got some great potential! In a 4x game where diplomacy is a rather large part of the game, there's nothing more annoying the concept defeated by poor diplomacy design. I could hope that Elemental would be the game to set a new standard in diplomacy-ing, which I believe that a concept like in this thread would really support.
The pics in the last dev post are more saying: https://forums.elementalgame.com/362576 The problem still remains, somewhat, but I honestly don't think that it'll be a problem
It's a great idea! I've been playing the Total War series a lot, and I've really really missed a diplomacy option like this. I know that TW has never been famous for it's diplomacy (hey... it's TOTAL WAR, right?) but it has really annoyed me, that there simply hasn't been this option. What I would like to see was: a ) The diplomacy screen option to barter for peace on behalf of another player: "Dear Mr. King A <p
Well, I really do think that the succession system will become too complicated if it begins to involve a tug-of-war between the player and the (often) arbitrary moods of an AI player represented by the other parent. If you want a specific child to be the heir, I really think that it'll cause a lot of frustration to have that decision contended by someone else. Again Scoripiana. you raise a good point, when you point out, that the micro-manage problem only becomes an iss
Am I the only one getting a little comfused? The way I interpret the lore, the Sovereign is i mmortal , as in "does not die of old age". But the Sovereign is not invincible , as in "cannot be killed". I think there's an important distinction to be made. ON TOPIC: I would really like the option of having sovereign death = end of game vs. dynastic empires (ie. the game continues as long as the royal family exists) to be implementet as a Ga
On the subject of gender domination: It's OK to be insecure about your role in society but arguing with human (european) history seems a bit strange for a fantasy game.
I agree with Scorpiana when he says that real life history shouldn't be a guideline to making this game. However, I do think that the male children should be the heirs, and that the females shouldn't be. I really really liked the Total
An interesting thought, Lomion, and one that could easily be expanded into something really cool. As you say: It's not a stretch imagining, that people would worship an immortal sovereign wielding immense magic! My early thought go a little like this: Religion could be a tech-branch starting with something like proclaiming yourself a God. This could then be expanded with techs such as theology, priesthoods and so on. In this way, religion would be a "generic tech-strat"
Just recently found my way to this site, but YEAH I'M IN!
I don't know why, but it seems that some of you guys are obsessed with the thought of labelling the E:WoM fantasy as something we already know, ie. norse, greek, japanese mytholgy. Stardock has the oppportunity to do exactly what they like with their fantasy setting, and the way I see it, there's really nothing that stops them from doing just that. IMO: screw the real world historical technological developments. E:WoM has a completely different outset. IT HAS MAGI
I ought to say that I LOVE the art direction in this game! The consistency of the art through the game is so much more important than just getting the concept art done.
What was the engine for Empire: Total War made for, if not specifically for a strategy game? .
The greatest bugfest in gaming history? Just kidding, too good to pass though. E: TW's a great game (or has become I ought to say). Seriously though: The modding community is more often than not what makes great games truly memorable. Anyone remember Half-life 1? No? How about Counterstrike
