For information George, both the regular and Full Color versions of Bootskin work perfectly on my nForce 2 motherboard (aOpen AK79G-1394) )

It is my belief that there is no policy that JoeUser should remain purely English focussed. There are really no constraints on content apart from basic standards of morality and decency. As such, JoeUser should accomodate other languages. The only reason that this may not necessarily be the current case is that JoeUser is new, and hasn't had a request like yours. Personally I believe that giving Joe User an International focus could make it into THE blogging site.
Maybe rather than doing this, you could provide an additional flag that can be set when writing a blog: Language. This would obviously default to English for the majority of users, but then users could maybe search based on language. This way, users could find posts in their own language but they could also be kept in the proper sections. It may also be worth considering allowing users to filter which posts they can see based on language. It would make no sense for me to be dis
Janet - It's enough of a strain on my dial up connection as it is thanks !
Longhorn as shown here is a default theme included in the DX2.1 install I think.
Various bits and pieces over the past few days. The SilverIce player was updated to use Windows Media Player, which exposed what appears to be a problem with Ian's new list control. The problem is easy to replicate though, so I'm hopeful that this can be resolved quickly as it's a really cool control. Spent a bit of time trawling through the newsgroups. The issue re removing security from the standard DX seems to have caused a bit of upset - well actually quite a lot amongst wh
OK, have plenty of offers now thanks
I think you may find it is you who thinks too much of yourself. Already had my tea, weight is just fine, thanks.

Just done a second style: www.desktopx.net/temp/Marvel/spidey2.exe Let me know which style you prefer, given that the graphics in both need a bit of work.
DX 2.1 is out - awesome! This has been a great project and some great teamwork to get things done. I know a lot of hours have been put in, but I know it's been worth it. Now we need to decide what to do for 2.2. I'm still interested to hear what anyone (insert echo here) - apart from Alberto - think about the proposals. I'm amazed by the response to the request for DX documentation translations. I think we have it well covered. We have an offer from someone with some t
yep, I do need that speed writing course! T-MAN WHERE'S THAT NEWS EDIT FEATURE
Spanish, Turkish, French, Arabic, Dutch. Just because it ain't here don't mean it ain't been offered
Also had offers for Hebrew, Danish, Portuguese
que? Offers for Swedish and Vietnamese so far!
I frequently get asked questions by International users regarding DesktopX often in their native language. Now, I'm OK with a few but it's obviously that it's not easy for those who's native language is not England to understand the manuals. If anyone is willing to undertake a translation
So, DX 2.1 is released - cool - that's a real great step for DX. Of course, as soon as it was out I found an ActiveX bug in the media player - how annoying! However, Ian came up trumps and fixed it really quickly, so thanks for that! The summary document of the DX Installer project was done. The aqaurium is pretty much done I think. It has sounds now which is cool. I can't seem to get the looping to work using DX naturally so I resorted to a timer. First time I ever ne
Well, the past few days have been very busy. A few items in the Developers and Scripting Guides have been clarified. This is positive, because users are prompting these changes with comments in the newsgroup, which shows that at least SOME users read manuals. Other tweaks have been made to get the default objects ready for DX release. Fortunately one that was chosen was my DX Calendar with appointments. I knew that this has a few bugs so this prompted me to fix them! S
Oh, PS, looks really nice BTW ;) Oh - the tabs at the top are a bit subtle - I missed that there was more to do. I like the 5 step options to questions rather than 3 Still very nice looking ;)
Comments for you as requested: Typo on Country What is "screen name", and is this related to AOL/MSN/Yahoo! ? D.O.B. may be better as "Date of Birth" for those who's primary language isn't English
Yeah, the sooner we get Rainlendar and Samurize on there the sooner we can port the good stuff to DesktopX
Well, I seem to have tidied up a few projects today. The "corporate" Media Player was nailed over the weekend. Actually, it really demonstrated how cool DX is. It literally took only a couple of hours to deliver something totally customised given that the base object was there. Let's hope they're suitably impressed. The aquarium is nearly done - just need to add sounds. I also did a bit more work on my Longhorn theme. The new DX build has really finished this off wonde
Again my hardware woes continue. My laptop modem died, and I then discovered that the manufacturer has ceased trading. Oh joy! Never mind one USB modem later and everything's back to normal. I don't think I have any more hardware that can break! That apart, it's been a fairly successful couple of days really. DesktopX bugs are finally getting ironed and I think we are all really happy with the way it now works. Sure, there is more that can be done but we are looking good for an immenant
Well, a mixed day yesterday. The weather has closed in which always makes things seem misearable, but now the modem on my laptop has packed up. This is a real pain as obviously it's not just a case of buying another cheap modem, plugging it in and using that. It's definitely not the line so It's a call to the manufacturers. Just as I get my machines running in tune this happens. As for work, that was far more successful. I finally finished proofing the SkinStudio Docs. There's still pot
