If you complete researching a new tech on the same turn as you complete the Spell of Making then the game starts to play the Spell of Making victory music but brings you to the new tech research screen. Finished it. Took a little longer than some of the guys :-( Pretty uneventful. Didn't lose any cities to monsters or opponents. Lost one troop unit total in battles. I get a lot of crashes. Probably averaging a bit over 1 per 2 hr session. They come in 4 varieties: Crash to blue screen with dos-style text saying that the PC is shutting down to protect it.
