It's been ages since anything like it was released. Another game I'd feel equally passionate about would be a Homeworld 3.

I'd remove it because it's too powerful to not pick and enabling it by default obsoletes all those movement increase options you have for your troops.
That's pretty awesome and does increase the fun factor quite a bit. Now if only the AI was decent...
Magic research seems to have significantly fewer tech levels than warfare for instance. Why not just add them in?
There's a preview for HoMM VI in my local gaming magazine. Not before 2011 though I'm afraid :D Looks pretty though ^^

There is also the Fairy Tale mod for Civilization IV: http://www.moddb.com/mods/fairy-tale
Excellent info! This will keep me interested for a while until Elemental is in better shape (I got bored of ffh2 a while ago already, but it's what you expect to happen after a good 250 to 300 hours of gameplay).
With what sounds like nearly a complete overhaul of the magic system coming soonish, though, who knows what it'll do when they get done with it.
This is my thought exactly too since I not only expect an overhaul of the magic system, but of combat in general (at least we need a hp buff to counter the glass canon approach in unit design).
So I wanted to try out the Empire faction after having played though several times with a custom kingdom and I have to say I really like the vibe you get while playing them. They seem to exchange some defensive power (no teleport until spelllevel 3) for some early game aggression (mounted warfare combined into their first combat tech). Even the spells you get are different! Anyways, the problem lies exactly within one of those differing spells, namely "summon spy" which summons a smal
Well you guys need to keep resource costs in mind also. I needed some cheap, but still strong soldiers to guard my outer cities from monster attacks, but I had so many outposts that needed defending that I couldn't possibly give them all metal armor. Instead I outfitted them with leather armor and gave them two handed maces. They were still strong enough to deal with anything the game would throw at me at that time, but cheap as hell so I could spam them throughout my kingdom. Of cour

Hopefully, with time it can provide more bonuses, but basically if you hover your mouse over the caravan once it's doing its route, you'll see the % increase in food.
Are you sure it's just food? I set a caravan up for a ridiculously long journey and once the route was finally established I noticed I
Totally works, except I didn't play ridiculous AI, but the 2nd highest difficulty setting (with a bit lower world difficulty, although this should work against this strategy for less money from random encounters). Also I hired several Champions infused them and had them tag along so I still had amazing magical support (casters don't need any equip).
The patch reset my game options Oo
Thanks for the awesome job you guys are doing over there at Stardock HQ on a friggin SUNDAY! Anyways, I'm heading off to bed, 1:30 am over here, I hope there'll be a nice surprise waiting for me when I wake up =))
I said in another thread, might as well say here. I preordered the game after the beta, I did not receive any confirmation email or serial so far. So I contacted and I received a response telling me that they have my preorder in their registry or logs or something ( Forgot exact wording ). They said I'll receive an email with the serial as soon as the product is available and that is also the time when my card will be charged. S
This is what I got on 17. sep. 2009 21.55 So I bought the game almost after it was available for preorder so if my registration info somehow disappeared then I'd be a bit sad Thank you for your order from Stardock. This email contains the serial number(s) for the software you have ordered and serves as your receipt. Please print a hard copy of this information and store it in a safe place as you may
