While I too would like to loot gear, one thing people tend to forget/ignore: You know how people tend to hurt their hands and completely maul the plastic boxes around things like game controllers and electronics? Same thing with armor. Believe it or not, smacking someone with a giant hammer tends to dent the Plate Armor of +5 Studliness
Problem with that is that, in my experience at least, early players don't have much in the line of reserves. So the bandit might raid and only get a single gildar or a single material, if he is lucky.
I would open it up and check to make sure you have everything. They forgot to put my Pewter Dragon in there (currently waiting for a response from customer support).
Ironically, I don't want a refund. I just want the pewter dragon they forgot to put in my LE. No response since Friday afternoon.
Actually, judging by that, researching Mastery unlocks all the books. Anyone able to confirm that?

With regard to the "Those dirty Germans built Stone Henge first!" achievements: I like them. They give a brief idea about how the other players are doing, and add some nice flavor to the game. That being said, I would prefer they be along the lines of news broadcasts (like MOO2). Feel more like news from afar, rather than a big deity telling me to stop building the Great Wall of Italy :p With regard to the "List of the top five most militaristic players": I don't really
