I haven't played this in a while (actually just checking back to see if there's been a patch), but I've had that happen before in a predictable fashion. I forget how I triggered it. But my solution was to turn on auto-combat and then turn it off just before my unit's turn.

The gold bonus is correct - it starts at 10%, and the level progress will increase the gold bonus. For this reason, I almost exclusively make my capital a town to capitalize on this bonus. And yeah, I had a road at 14% once when Magnar was very close, but it didn't last long since they got wiped out pretty early -_-. At turn 350 or so in the same game, I have yet to get another trail upgraded to 14% gold - all treaties still only give a 10% bonus per tre
Cloak of the stars quest. Vatula's dragonslayer has "no effect" on the quest dragon or any other dragon. The dagon gave no xp for the fight. I did not gain the cloak. I did have the shrink bug during this fight.
I still experience the "no effect" bug mentioned in the original post. after the full release of the game in 1.00. I'm not sure about the experience bug. I do, however, have the cloak of the s
"ENTER" ends your turn "SPACE" halts a unit's movement in the strategic view, setting it to zero. That will keep them from coming up as a next unit when you hit tab. "T" is a Trade shortcut for champions "1" through "4" are shortcuts for various views. "1" is the skewed view you start the game with. "4" is zoomed out all the way with the cloth map. "CTRL+S" quick-saves the game. I wish I knew the shortcut for quick-load...
Since caravans are gone, the specialty Legacy of Serrane seems mostly useless in 0.86. The only benefit is the economic aura spell, which is hardly a reason to choose it. Perhaps it should generate diplomatic capital based on the number of roads that connect cities, or diplomatic capital as a percentage of gross generated gildar (before maintenance costs)? I'm surprised no one thought to change that specialty or remove the "caravan" section from the Hiergamenon.
I have a new problem. I started a new game with the modded CoreAccessories.xml like above, but I just hired a female champion that cannot purchase the Journeyman's cloak. So I tried completely removing all of the SupportedUnitModelType 's under the Journeyman's cloak and started *another* game. My sovereign can still purchase the Journeyman's cloak but still I have a female champion that can't purchase it.
Thanks DsRaider. That's twice you've helped :) I don't suppose there's a way to hex edit the save game? I don't even know how they're mapped.
I'd like to mod the game so my sovereign can wear the Journeyman's Cloak. From my forum searching, it appears that only Male Men can wear it. My Soveriegn is a Mancer Male. So I edited "CoreAccessories.xml" to include all race/gender combinations in the SupportedUnitModelTypes. Here's an excerpt:
EDIT: Okay I found out how to install this. I usually don't bother with betas, but I really want to get over this prestige penalty. May I suggest adding something to announcements about new betas? Something like "To download this beta patch, ensure the 'Show Pre-Release Versions' option is enabled in Impulse under Settings (top left drop-down menu)"
I believe there used to be a way to see this. I can't remember when I was last able to do it since I haven't played in 4-5 months. That option might be lost since 1.0... not sure. I'm just confounded as to why it disappeared.
First, my question: How do I adjust the order of heroes displayed in the unit stack? I'm trying to get a channeler offspring to appear as the first unit in a stack so that I can just click the stack and cast a teleport spell. But even if I separate the heroes into separate stacks with no other units, it doesn't matter whether the channeler joins the other hero or vice versa, my channeler is never the first unit. The other hero is a higher level than the channeler, bu
