Rebooted. I don't really have a bunch of stuff running at startup but it took several minutes before I stopped seeing the occasional cursor with an hourglass. Start11 was not happy until I used its config app to restart Explorer. I'm going to put it to sleep now and try again a little later this evening to see if it also behaves this way after being woken up.

Start11 does not appear to like being woken up. :-) I am currently using 2.5.2 but I've been experiencing this issue since 2.5 came out. I have a single monitor and dock the Start bar on the left with auto-hide turned on. I've found that whenever I wake the computer, Start11 is not responsive. Sometimes I only see an outline. Sometimes it will un-hide but nothing is clickable. I have to invoke the Windows search using the standard hot key, type into the search to have it locate

Apologies for cross-posting but I've had no response in the OD forum. Longtime user of Stardock products, just decided to renew my OD subscription, DLed and installed Object Desktop Manager and tried to login with my product key (from 2007!). It's being rejected. I can log in with my email/pw account creds but it does not show the renewed OD license. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/3/18/318156/f0351d33-46b9-498e-9656-e640aafbaf26.png" alt=

Longtime user of Stardock products, just decided to renew my OD subscription, DLed and installed Object Desktop Manager and tried to login with my product key (from 2007!). It's being rejected. Is there a time lag between the time the subscription is renewed to when I should be able to get ODM back up and running? TIA

I switched modes in SVD this morning and after it completely crashed I restarted OB. When SVD came up, I attempted to switch to another desktop. I got a message saying that the shareware version has expired. Since I have a full OD subscription, this is really irritating. How do I convince SVD that I am not a thief and get this to function properly?

And thanks for the clues. I ran DX, went into Load Widgets and found the option to clear the widget cache. I deleted the folders for the widgets I want to use and ran them. Like magic, they once again appear in a visible location.

Thanks all for the responses. Hard drive, eh? Now why didn't I think of that. I kept looking under my desk, my chair... Let me see if I've got this straight. I have to fire up DX in order to determine the position of lost widgets. But I need to make sure that it doesn't hose my existing desktop. And I have to do this every time some widget decides to s

I've been trying to use a few widgets (specifically a clock and a calendar) and I've run into this problem where the widget will somehow locate itself off the visible screen. I want to postion these widgets roughly in the upper right corner. I travel with my laptop and one location has a docking station where the video runs at a lower resolution than the laptop's native one. The widgets don't seem to be smart enough to know that the screen resolution h

I've been having problems with the speed of VD desktop switching. At one point, I thought the culprit was Right Click as stopping that seemed to have cured the problem. However, it came back even without Right Click loaded. Switch times between desktops could take 3-5 seconds. Now I think I've found another solution. It appears that the MS Antispyware program, which has several real-time monitors, is causing the speed issue. After shutting it down comp

While I have no particular fondness for Intuit's tech support (that phrase is pretty much an oxymoron), this problem was caused by Stardock and was not limited to Quicken. On my system it caused many applications to stop functioning correctly (4NT, TakeCommand, VS .Net IDE, several Thinkpad utilities...) and it was only by lots of digging that I eventually stumbled upon a posting on the WindowsFX forum that led to the solution I implemented, which was

I found this topic tonight and am I glad I did. This was causing problems with a lot of apps on my system (4NT, TakeCommand, Quicken 2005, various Thinkpad utilities) for at least a week now. Once I unregistered the DLL, everything started working again. Thanks for the detective work!
