shrug* Make it random as a quick fix. Either side should have an equal chance to get wiped out without a chance to strike back. =P
this would be a decent quick fix. maybe have a number roll at the beginning of battle to determine who goes first... 1-10 for defensive army and 3-10 for the offensive so that attacking armies still have a slightly better chance to hit first.
In v1.09, we are looking at letting the defenders go first. This isn't a "Final" solution to it but it's a fairly straight forward change that alleviates this a bit.
This will be completely game breaking. No one will want to be an attacker for fear that their army will be wiped out before a turn.. Think of it in multiplayer terms where every game is an automatic stalemate cause no one wants to be the attacker.
I don't mind the current interface but have a couple things that should be tweaked. 1. Even when i don't have any of a resource it should still be listed up top. I ran into a problem where I had farms but no food and couldn't figure out how negative I was since the stat isn't displayed at the top if you have none. Not to mention it took me awhile to even know about some resources(crystals) since they are up there and I didn't run into them for a long time.
Another idea would be to have initiative and have units take turns based on that, rather than all ove both sides taking turns.
This is where it needs to go. Of course attacking armies would get a slight bonus to their initiative. Of course it would have to be small enough so that fast units(thieves /small creatures) would be able to react before the attacker. Also higher level spells need to take time to cast giving the defender time to counter with a defensive sp
What about specialist magic schools ala D&D where selecting one school prohibits another? What you could do there is allow an Imbued Champion or Offspring to reach high level spells in their school of choice (over time), and only medium level spells in other schools (over time), and no spells in the prohibited school. This would differentiate the other magic users, and add a bit more strategy.
this would be fine except you don't know what shards you will have.
there is a button for the minimap in the top right corner
I still have 10.6 drivers since the newest drivers seemed to really screw up another game for me.
I am doing the same since the aug 26 drivers screw up starcraft 2 and a couple other games.... I hope stardock isnt testing with these(aug 26) drivers since they need to be fixed.
I am still getting the memory leaks as well..... I have 48xx card too maybe thats the culprit. Win 7 64 bit. One thing i notice is a couple turns before the crash that when going between the cloth and 3d maps strange things start to happen. Seems like the same zoom leak they had with Sins.
still having the same problem myself around turn 230.... win 7 64 8 gb ram radeon HD 4890
Another thing with this is not wearing clothes under armor. These heroes must suffer from a lot of chaffing. Not to mention how good it must feel for them to have bare skin against plate armor..... Don't get "it" caught in your chain armor either. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't care for this mechanic in particular... If the AI researches Adventure before you then you never are high enough in level to go into any quest locations.... I like that it levels up the locations but you should be able to enter any of them regardless of your adventure level.
I agree +1
bump
It would be nice to choose which tile my army would appear on when exiting a city.
Is the hot fix for bows going to be supplied for the multiplayer beta today?
Let's see: - different pricing - extras - compatibility Are Impulse offers these ?
why would the prices be different. what extras and compatibility would be worked out(steam would have to do the same anyway) don't know what that last part means
If they manage to get servers online they should ask Valve to let them use part of their bandwith for a few days, because pretty much all their customers will want to download all games they bought ASAP and I dont think they can pay for that kind of bandwith and very few companies have such infrastructure available.
Why not impulse? Brad should be on the phone with GoG to see if they can absolve GoG's game licenses. Therefor getting rid of the "legal thing
For everyone who has purchased games from gog.com, I hope they quickly bring online the capability for you guys to re-download your games.
they say there will be something put up this week to do that. Info for it will be on their twitter and facebook pages
just went there and it is already down.... Um any chance lords of magic will be offered on impulse in the future?
that sucks was about to buy lords of magic from there
I think a system where the shards give you summon points separate from mana would work better. The Channeler would start with 5 summon points and you would receive 5 more for each shard controlled. The summons themselves would then be split into level 1, 3 and 5 according to their power. The level of the summon would also be the amount of summon points needed to maintain them. This would make lower level summons more useful late game since you would have
Actually the aug. 26 driver from ati is junk anyway. I hope stardock isnt trying to make that one work. When I installed that one I ended up with artifacts in 3 different games and had to rollback to the july driver version. I'm using win 7 64 bit ati 4890
The Dreamcast is my favorite console... My favorite games would be Code Veronica, Grandia II, Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue, Record of Lodoss War(great diablo style game)and Armada.
I don't think it was on purpose or the first couple of updates would have fixed everything. Which they didn't.
Lords of Magic SE turn based fantasy strategy with real time pause-able battles Lords of the Realm II also turn based with RTS battles GalCiv II HoMM series Disciples 1&2 maybe 3 but haven't got to it yet\
On an RTS front you might want to look into Majesty 2. It's a remake of the old Majesty game which has you building a town and setting bounties on various things in order to encourge the local heroes to get off their fat backsid
