The campaign better have an awesome story. The advent sounds like the people who are actually good with a catch. The process of assimilating everyone to form a group mind to eliminate conflict and allow everyone to (hopefully) live well is noble, but people who've lived in a society like the TEC's (or ours) where the most valuable possession is freedom, it's natural to fight them off. This is the conflict that makes the collective such a beautiful faction in sci fi.

Maybe you should actually look at your own behavior first. The reason you got banned was because you called someone a fucking scum bag, not because Adolf Hitler stole Einstein's time machine and decided to make everyone miserable by posing as a GM and tossing out bans like candy. You broke the rules the developers put up to stop the place from degrading into a crude class-less game like halo, and you should be glad that they actually enforce the rules. Whether or not you feel like you'r

Scientists just admit that smoking increases the chance of getting any disease conceivable, they just get more money when they do a specific study for every disease that exists. I bought CnC3 because the price sticker covered the EA logo on the box. Politicians admit that corn based ethanol is a retarded idea.

I've started playing this from about ~1 1/2 weeks ago, and I'm loving it, so forth, but I have a few questions particularly about trade. 1. How does a trade alliance with another player help you both? 2. Some times my longest trade chain will refuse to incorporate another viable planet with a trade post even after a long period of time. Why won't it assimilate the new stops when it could make a longer chain? 3. How exactly do refineries work? As I see it they send out cargo

I first build two fighters in defensive situations, then I go on a 1F:2B ratio giving odds to the bombers. If you have a weak base they'll probably just send a few frigates and siege frigates, but at a stronger base/chokepoint they will send cruiser/capital ships. However, in a fleet I prefer to just go all bombers unless I'm building carriers. I find what slows me down the most is taking out those buildings, particularly late in the game with armor upgrades and and hull reinforcement t

Mind readers and psychics do not exist. They're just people with heightened perceptions of other people, they can take much more subtle clues than other people. Any study that proves they exist is obviously the result of inaccurate data/flawed procedure/extremely small testing base. Just because it's a "scientific" study doesn't instantly make it true, and I still haven't seen any of these psychic proving studies.

I'm assuming by some of the pictures that there is a strong regional thing. I wanna see more of the Drengi election, those topics are comedy gold :D This game is on my to buy list along with pretty much every game made by stardock :P

The only people who say that they have telekinetic powers are A. Liars B. Liars who perform illusions for show. C. People who got so engrossed in the "OH MY GOD TELEKINESIS SOUPER COOL!" thing, tried it themselves, and were convinced that they were some sort of supernatural mutant just because a light bulb burnt out after 4 hours of concentrating.

The Evacuater I believe has a nanite attack that lowers your armor and wreaks your hull. Those ships would easily die to the nanite attack coupled with the other ships.

I'm really a vasari person for their durable and strong ships, but I wish they could make the economy a bit stronger or make the skirmishers a bit weaker and cheaper, say a bit stronger and more expensive than the TEC. They really seem to have defence problems towards the beginning of the game. I kinda disagree with the CnC comparison though. It seems to be flipped around with the TEC and Vasari. The Vasari would likely be the USA, they have strong durable ships but are expensive, the A
like seedless bananas.
Let me be the first to say that bananas do not have seeds, never have had seeds, and never will have seeds. I'm all for GE food as long as the crops are thoroughly tested. With testing, the only problems that could pass by would be fairly mild but the benefits would far outweigh this. Let's refer to Asia from about the 1970'sish. At that time rice could only be grown once a year and produced limited food. There simply wasn't enough rice unt

It would depend on what intelligence is obviously. If we're talking about another life form that has a capability of strong logical reasoning, can form conclusions and clearly express itself, then either that would be an ape that understands sign language or alien life if you need more than an ape. However, there's been some remarkable progress on teaching animals human concepts such as Alex the parrot. Alex had a ~150 word vocabulary, could answer and ask questions, attempted to create

I think everyone's thinking about this the wrong way. It's not that girls are any better at them, it's that they like them because they're good at them. I've found that most boys (like myself) will buy a game and throw themselves at the AI consecutively losing for hours having fun and making progress on their skill as well as enjoying games that they honestly suck at, while the girls I've played with only like to play the games that they're particularly good at, which tends to be intuitive games

Rather than try to speed up the game, wouldn't it be better to cut out part of the game? I already find it very busy to manage a medium size map, speeding it up would just make it impossible to manage. Have everyone start out with a fully developed terran, an ice and fire, a desert, and two asteroids that are partially developed. Then give everyone a modest fleet like 16 skirmishers, 10 LRMs, 6 gardas, 2 siege frigates, and two free capital ships. Give everyone some basic research up to say the

It should work well, but as usual loading times will be long. I have a fairly moderate end machine and it runs perfectly even when I have hundreds of ship in combat with all the special effects and whatnot.

I'd forget the whole ogame mod. That would only cut out the whole race idea and trying to edit as much as you're attempting isn't a good idea unless you have a good amount of experience in programming and modding. As for the second idea I'd recommend that you buy an actual submarine game rather than try to make one out of a space game ;)
